Just to realise the sort of justice in Russia......

 

Russian police officers had been secretly filming an opposition activist inside her bedroom for months before she was detained and charged under a new law on “undesirable organisations” in a move that has been described as "outrageous."

Sadly, this is only the tip of the iceberg of the atrocious injustices the Russian authorities commit. Many in the West do not know much about the things that go on in Russia or in the wider region due to the language and cultural barrier.

I think I have watched it, but that is not the point. I am not saying that Western governments are good and do not commit crimes. Of course, they do! However, things in Russia are on a completely different level. 

 

If you, as a German citizen, came and lived in Russia for a few years, you would run back to Germany and kiss German government officials, thanking your fortunes that you were born in Germany and do not have to suffer the indignities of life in mafiosi-run KGB-stan. 

 

Many Russian or Central Asian political activists are harassed and hounded for speaking out against injustices and government crimes. Most of them eventually leave for the West as refugees, and then write about their impressions on life in the West. All of them say that they are struck by how much freedom and security there is. For them seeing a polite police officer who is ready to help them is incredible. It is like cognitive dissonance, because over here the police is no different from mafiosi thugs who will plant drugs on you, or do some other nasty things with impunity. That is why many fear and distrust the police.

This system has the same limits as it’s leader. None. None at all. And, just who is running the show is becoming more evident. I cannot imagine us telling ones resurrected just how bad it really got. And, the end is not yet.
