Baking Bread

my self i have not try any baking sens the shelter in place orders

I bake bread quite often

 

Just made French Baguettes yesterday

I tried to bake first time in my life and it did not go as well as I wished.

 

Any suggestions? I remember there was an article in the publication how to bake bread but I could not find it. 

 

I even purchased the dough machine today.  So I need a good recipe. 🤔

I've been trying to make sourdough work, off and on for a few years. It always comes out as a brick.

Coming out as a brick is often caused by the dough being too dry or not properly kneaded.

 

It can also be dense if it has not risen properly before it is baked.

When making bread never use cold water. Use warm water or milk, when kneading flour it must not be stiff it must have a nice texture not to soft not to hard.

I use cool water when baking bread, but it depends on the type of flour,  i.e., bread flour, all-purpose, white whole wheat and whole wheat, which is quite dense.  (I use milk when baking biscuits or certain pastries. )

 

No-knead breads are my specialty and they always turn out well.
