Handy Windows 10 feature

Recommended Posts

I updated Windows 10 today and discovered a feature new or at least new to me, something which will prove very handy. It is a cut and snip feature. One cut and snip any portion of a screen view which then goes to the clipboard. A simple Ctrl+V then pastes it to cursor location. Here is a sample from this oage.

Use the Window+shift+S. Then I simple snipped out a portion of the page and Ctrl+V to insert it. It works between programs and in many cases removes the need to edit size.

Here's a guide on all of the different methods and shortcuts within Windows. https://www.howtogeek.com/226280/how-to-take-screenshots-in-windows-10/
Many people also swear by Greenshot https://ninite.com/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenshot or the screenshot tool within the Firefox browser. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-screenshots

Yes. I've been using that for ages! Well, for as long as I've had Windows 7 and up... It's been there, but I guess some just don't know about it.

On the other hand, you can use the "prt sc" key at the top-right of the keyboard. That takes a picture of the entire screen, which can be edited in Paint or Paint 3D.
