Why do world people seem to speak English so fast and

I had a young women working for me , her first name was Jaguar. I asked her how she got her name, She said that her father, when he realized that with his new daughter he would never get his Jaguar he decided to name his only daughter Jaguar, the only Jaguar he would could ever afford. :(

 I am not sying I am Superman, I am only saying that nobody has ever seen Superman  and me in a room together.

It's just something I've noticed when watching films or TV shows from both countries, though it has to be said I struggle with some US shows too.

 

Maybe I should switch subtitles on and have done with it. 😁

I vaguely remember someone mentioning that American English is closer to how English was in England in the past?
Instead, England English is a 'transformed' version of the original English. Is this correct? 

Well there's one than one kind of "England English" (if we're meaning accent) and more than one kind of American English.

But I've heard that Boston US accent is closest to how Londoners spoke at the time that the British came to the Americas.

PS there's also multiple different Canadian English's

She makes some good points by comparing American English with British English.

 

Americans tend to forget that the word better has a couple of t's in it, not d's. for example.😀

 

I have a feeling I'm going to get into trouble now for that. lol

I can understand the gist of what the sheep farmer is saying, but I think I would still be able to have a good conversation with him about sheep farming and rustling. :))

i understood a few words... at this point where me and him would lose what linguists call "mutual intelligibility," you would actually see debate among linguists whether his and my language are even the same, or two different ones!
