Feeney gave big money to big problems—whether bringing peace to Northern Ireland, modernizing Vietnam’s health care system, or spending $350 million to turn New York’s long-neglected Roosevelt Island into a technology hub. He didn’t wait to grant gifts after death or set up a legacy fund that annually tosses pennies at a $10 problem. He hunted for causes where he can have a dramatic impact and went all-in. 
  Notice that he didn’t just give handouts . He didn’t merely give a man a fish. He invested in entire projects which now probably employ 100’s  of thousands.  He is making smart choices in too whom and how he has given. 

    Too many people these days just demonize business owners like this man without even the slightest idea either of how they built their wealth or what they are doing with it. And as this story indicates if they openly publicize what they are doing then they are bragging. If they operate in a low profile way ( as this man did ) know one ever knows.
