Work load in the world vs congregation

I've heard some brothers say that in the congregation, you get more responsibilities as time goes by, but ironically, in the world the higher up the ladder you go, the more pay you have but less work you do. Meaning that in the world, they let people at the bottom do the grunt work, while those at the top just cruise, but in the congregation it's the opposite.

 

Have you all heard this? What are your thoughts on this?

There is a saying in the business world:

 

Why be an assistant manager and have half the worries while working 60 hours a week when you can be the boss, have all the worries and work 80 hours a week.

 I was talking about this about a week ago to people in the world and that is, I was seeing people at my work were working over time and making big money. And some of our brothers were making big money too. But when you look at their check stubs, the government was grabbing a lot of their money too. The more they made, the more tax they had to pay.

Well, the part about the world is relative. It's true that those at the bottom usually do the dirty work while the boss wears a tie and a suit. But often companies also require complete availability of those in higher positions. I get off work and forget everything until the next day, but my boss receives phone calls in the evening, late in the night, during the weekends and in his vacation. I surely wouldn't want his job.

 

Now in the congregation it's very true that responsibilities involve a lot of work (often unseen and unthanked for).

All I know is that as a appointed brother I have to work hard, sometimes very hard (when lots happening behind the scenes) 

Urgently I have to prepare 2 public talks for 10th October, and 11th October, plus many other normal responsibilities. 

Now, Victoria is about to open to business - thus my secular work will be heavy, balancing those loads will require effort. 

But hey, I am on the best "wage" ever ...everlasting life in the future.  (I do understand that we can't earn everlasting life through our labour 😉 ) 

 

We need more appointed brothers!  (to share the load)
