Are you saying that the FDS has sent a letter to the Congregations stating that there is no longer a need to take precautions? That wearing a mask is no longer a good idea or that social distancing is no longer needed? That we can resume door-to-door ministry and full use of the KH? That the pandemic is over and "life-as-usual" can now resume?

Has such a letter been read in your Congregation?

No, precautions are needed. But wearing masks have never never been a requirement in any letters from the branch read here.

I don't believe the Branch has ever "required" non-bethelites to use masks in any country. That would be beyond their purview. But they have always said to take sensible precautions and follow directions from health officials.

Are you saying none of the brothers in your congregation where masks?

Yeah they recommended following the guidelines of wearing masks for non-bethelites.

No mandate organization wide. It would go beyond their purview, as you said.

No. It has been a decision each family head makes, but up until now, the state has not required it, nor has health officials advices to wear such a thing.

Except there have been no such guidelines here. They do, however, remind everyone to follow the guidelines from the authorities.

Some things are changing in Sweden now. I added the bit in bold because a thought comes to mind. Is it safety they are looking at or as he said because people won't put up with that.

Sweden's government has introduced the toughest measures yet to help stave off a second wave of the pandemic, including recommending masks on public transport and closing non-essential public workplaces.

...

Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said non-essential public workplaces, such as gyms, pools and libraries, would close until 24 January.

He also said the government now recommended using masks on public transport during crowded hours.

"We are doing what we have done throughout this pandemic, the right measures at the right time. And this is what this is," Mr Lofven said.

Asked about whether stricter measures were necessary Lofven maintained that the strategy was calibrated for the long-haul.

"A serious lockdown would not have an effect in the long run because people would not put up with that," Mr Lofven told reporters.

As Witnesses we do follow the decisions the authorities make. We do not engage in discussing why political decisions are made.

Just to be clear: the government cannot close any legal business, but only advice against them. Nor can they force anyone to wear face masks even now, only advice that they do it at certain specified situations.

I don't make political comments. You always seem to get defensive if anyone says anything.
I was pointing out that things have changed and the reasons given as to why they are not fully locked down.
Take it whatever way you choose. I was just trying to help by posting the latest information from that country.

No, I meant that I cannot say anything about the decisions they make, just that we follow whatever decisions they make. Ask if you want the latest info.

A new law, which will come into force in March 15, 2021, or perhaps earlier, will give the authorities the ability to shut down stores, gyms, museums, and camping areas. It will also grant them possibilities to shut down public transport and air traffic. It will also give them the right to shut down parks and beaches, and limit the number of people who can assemble in public spaces.

What it will not do is allow authorities to lock people into their homes or prevent them from travelling. Both of those things are protected by the constitution. The constitution only allows for the quarantine of someone who is contagious.

They assume that authority here in the USA already. It’s eased up a little but they may lock most things down again when Biden gets control. It might keep you alive but it destroys you financially. I’m one of the lucky ones, I have to turn down work. :)
