Single person Households on 25 December

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering what people in single households intend to do on the public holiday ?

I know some in our congregation find it a very difficult time as it highlights being alone ( especially this year when people are unable to meet up with other households in many areas)

Its good to have a plan for the day to keep focused and not feel down or watch to much TV .

Id like to share my plan :

10:00 we have a ministry group on Zoom  for 30 minutes

After group going out for a walk for about an hour

3pm - I attend a Zoom Days Text meeting - which I'm pleased to say is still happening on Friday ( its 3 PM GMT as it is worldwide so that time suits most) if anyone would like to join this anyone in good standing in their congregation is welcomed .

7pm - JW Trips - Old Brooklyn tour

No time to be bored - also have my 90 year old mother living with me at the moment so will fit in looking after her as well.

What are others doing ???

For me, Friday morning regular service day. Will just write letters that day...no phone calls.

Usually, than the rest of the day would be like any other day...alone.

But, an elderly sister formerly from my congregation and I are going to video talk and read this weeks Bible study. Hopefully start from the top of chapter 2. ☺️

She has a lot of health issues and really needs spiritual encouragement. It will be a great time.

How lovely do you get to see her in person or is it on Zoom ?

For me too, just another Friday.  Zoom ministry in the morning.  Regular routine the rest of the day.  Though coming into the truth from the world, I personally don't find the holidays to be more difficult days.

Not yet. We’ll be use Facebook Messenger video. She does really know how to use zoom yet.

I’m just doing my part to help her.

She lost her husband about a year ago and is so lonely.

Actually,  a little more on this. As much as I really want to go visit as I used to, with her health issues no COVID I don’t feel safe not necessarily for me but her.

However, in a bit when she feels stronger I may be taking her and her little dog to the vet clinic to be checked out. I really feel that’s a necessity for her.

Alone is ok with me on a day like today. It’s only 9am, and I’ve already accomplished so much, including moving furniture and fixing my reticulation and the washing. Moving onto spiritual things at 9:30 with the witnessing group. Then after lunch, I’m going to snooze 😁. It’s been very hot here, 40-42C for days, so I’m not pushing myself.  Also, no visits because I’m in quarantine due to recent covid developments over East, where I had just returned from. But even that is really no bother. You all in covid infested lands have been basically sheltering in place for months.  👍
