JW Library - Move Audio/Video File Location?

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to move the songs and videos in JW Library from my laptop's C drive to another drive?

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

Using the apps settings you can change the folder where JWL stores videos and music.  Not sure if it will move existing files.  You may have to move them yourself.  When I've moved files before, JW Library seems to lose track of them.  First, copy the files to the new location.  Delete the files in JWL.  Change the settings where the files are stored.  Then JWL needs to "re-download" each file, but it finds them in the new location, so doesn't actually download.  It takes time if you have a lot of media.

I haven't figured out how to do that. When I click on the box in Settings that shows the file location it shows another location available and I can switch locations, however I don't know how that location was created and I haven't been able to create a new location.

JW Library uses the "Libraries" feature.

Right click on a folder you want JW Library to use for the videos

In the menu select Include in Library > Videos  (or music for music files)

Open JW Library > Settings.

The folder should now be there.

Yes. The folder is there in JW Library. But when I download a video, it still downloads it to the old place (Videos\JW Library).

I figured it out.

Pick the folder you want to use for JWLibrary music or video files.  Right click on that folder.  From the list select "include in library" and choose which library you want that folder included in.

Then in JWLibrary under settings, select that library file

Hhmm. Yeah, that makes it sound so easy. But it doesn't work for me. I follow the above scenario to the letter... but new media files are still downloaded to the default locations. (???)
