In my efforts to be clean and sanitized in a healthy way I opted for 190 proof vodka and antimicrobial essential oils because of my research into isopropyl alcohol containing products, which many hand sanitizers have. Now its discovered others have unsafe levels of benzene. I'm so glad I listened to my inner voice.

I understand some folks are proponents of pharmaceuticals and that's ok. My statements are just my opinion, I'm not trying to start a conflict here.

No conflict here Cheryl, thanks for sharing the article.

Not too long ago in the oil refineries, the old timers mentioned that benzene was widely used as a solvent/degreaser and was commonly used by pipe fitters, welders and machinists to clean their hands and tools with benzene, at the end of their shifts. “Nothing worked better”.  My supervisor was diagnosed with leukemia, and here supervisor succumbed to cancer, along with a whole lot of others.

Benzene was even detected in 5 different well known brands of soda.

It’s shocking that it is still being used in consumer products.

Your vodka sanitizer sounds real good...with a little bit of orange juice.

That eventually changed and the protocol for a benzene exposure was extremely stringent. If one gallon of blended gasoline was spilled in the refinery it was a Benzene Emergency and triggered a limited HazMat response.
