MUNISING, Mich. (WLUC) - A man fell to his death into Lake Superior from near the upper viewing platform at Miners Castle in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Saturday at around 7 p.m., according to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

 

The Alger County Sheriff Department and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore park rangers responded. 
 

The investigation is ongoing by the National Park Service.

It could have been, but I haven’t seen a news article about that. Naturally, on social meeting someone posted he left a note, but they haven’t confirmed that either at least not that I’ve seen. 🤷‍♀️

Update on this: This is the reason why there are warning signs or as in this case a fence to stop 🛑 people from doing something stupid and getting killed. It doesn’t always work tho.

MUNISING, Mich. (WLUC) - The man who fell to his death Saturday evening at Miners Castle has been identified as 21-year-old Dominic Rotondi from Lincoln Park, Michigan.

 

According to a press release issued from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Rotondi was visiting the area near the upper viewing platform at Miners Castle with some friends.

 

The press release says for reasons currently unknown, Rotondi stepped over a fence that runs along the top of the cliff. He appeared to lose his footing near the edge and fell approximately 100 feet to the cliff face below and then into Lake Superior.

I used this for a letter in the ministry about listening or always paying attention to warnings. Also the bomb threat of the Mackinaw bridge. Worked out pretty good. Not exactly the way I want to get ideas for letters tho.
