Haven't had a comment here about world weather for 6 months even though there has been a lot happening - heatwaves, storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, snow in Germany in the middle of Summer, and floods, the latest of which is in Libya. It was triggered by Storm Daniel and has killed over 2,000 people thus far with more predicted. Prior to hitting Libya, it swept across Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria.

 

Jalel Harchaoui, a Libya specialist, told the BBC the death toll could reach as many as "several thousand" people.

 

Two dams in Derna - home to approximately 100,000 people - reportedly collapsed, submerging much of the area and drowning some residents.

Yes, it’s truly awful! Morocco’s big Earthquake the other day. Algeria had bad fires in July. And now devastating floods in Libya. Those poor people!
