Is it a sign of the last days that Korean boys are getting too pretty?

Recommended Posts

My teenage daughter also went through the “BTS stage” where everything was Jungkook this, Jimin that… (she even learnt some Korean using the JW Language app) it really used to annoy her when I made the casual observation that those boys were pretty. I understand the sentiments of the OP, but I don’t know if it has anything to do with the last days…maybe? I don’t know.

Getting too much yin instead of yang?
It didn’t use to be like this before back in 70’s and 80’s when men were … really males even in their early 20’s (who from today’s beauty perspective look very old or mature and not at all related to prettiness) tough bodies and tough minds. (All of whom served in the army for 3 years as a mandatory, abusing and being abused. Now it’s 18months.)

(Pls understand that there’s no science in yin and yang. Maybe there is, no evidence anyway.)

whereas, I’ve always thought that western people have lots of yang, tough and manly.

But are there more and more pretty boys in western countries too? Is it a sign of the last days or is it just happening for whatever reasons?

ah, one more thing.

Kids these days have too many misplaced wisdom teeth. I took out all of my four by surgery, it hurt a lot.

Most people in my parents’ generation have normal wisdom teeth.

Hi Brother. I started to watch a lot of Korean shows on Netflix. I wanted to kind of aquaint myself with Korea . I get what you mean. I have found both Males & female actors to beautiful. I have noticed even in Aussie. the phsyics has changed. I think a lot has to do with Modern technology. whereas in the past like my Dads generation. they used a lot of tools. & did the hard yakka.

For me personally, the key difference in this matter is this:

Does a man look "androgynous" for genetic reasons or does he have feminine traits about him? (ANDROGYNOUS meaning “Being neither distinguishably masculine nor feminine, as in dress, appearance, or behavior” or “Uniting both sexes in one, or having the characteristics of both; being in nature both male and female”).  So, even if I personally don't like it, it's something he didn't want or purposefully strive for.

But what I absolutely do not understand and honestly also find very disgusting, is when a man INTENTIONALLY wants to look feminine. Jehovah created us male and female, and we should be comfortable in our roles and not try to exchange them.  (An exception, of course, may be a mental illness that promotes such desires).

In the world, the boundary between male and female is being consciously "blurred" more and more - either out of conviction or to provoke. Whatever the reason, I find it inappropriate for a Christian.

The Bible doesn’t forbid shaping your own body, although it may not always be a good idea or very healthy ... It remains to be seen how this goes.

I don't know what it was about Prince, but there was just something about him. My mother was even attracted to him despite his weird little feminine stuff. I can't count how many times I watched Purple Rain as a kid. 🤣🤣

Prince had nothing on these K-Pop boys though. At least you could tell he was a man. These boys look like women.

This k-pop group are all hard working men. I could never imagine trying to live up to the idea of the ideal k-pop female.

This actually is a very interesting topic.

I've noticed that each generation in Korea 'tends' to produce its own 'preferred' looks.

Young people 100 years ago looked completely different. Young people now look different from 20 years ago.

Of course, you can't dismiss factors such as fashion, nutrition and such things.

But even so, people's look gradually change.

I wonder how this will be 'fixed' , so to speak, in the NW, because then, everyone will be in the same generation.

Or will future people (maybe 100,000 years from now on) look a bit different?
