Are there any 21st Century memorable quotes?

Recommended Posts

"Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country." - John F. Kennedy

"I Have a Dream. " - Martin Luther King, Jr.

"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." - Neil Armstrong

These are three memorable quotes from the 20th Century. When you hear it read these quotes you can see the event in your mind's eye, especially if you lived through that moment in history.

Are there any quotes like this from this century? Are there any memorable quotes from historic moments that someone in their early 20s lived through?  I'm struggling to think of any.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

"Houston, we have a problem" 😉

Edit: Did you say 21 century? hmm... my response does not fit into that category, and indeed we may have "Huston, we have a problem" regarding my quote LOL :facepalmpo2:

Ah, but aren't they actually all memorable quotes from the 1960s? 😉

  • John F. Kennedy in 1961
  • Martin Luther King, Jr.  in 1963
  • Neil Armstrong in 1969

Anyway, memorable 21st Century quotes within a historical context? How about:

"Freedom, itself, was attacked this morning by a faceless coward, and freedom will be defended."

https://youtu.be/yIV9TP_GsT4?t=20

"Yes we can to justice and equality. Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity. Yes we can heal this nation. Yes we can repair this world. Yes we can."
https://youtu.be/Fe751kMBwms?t=697

"How dare you? You have stolen my dreams and my childhood. And yet I'm one of the lucky ones. People are suffering. People are dying."

Yes, the 1960s were in the 20th century.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I think Zelensky created a catchphrase during this war. I keep hearing it.
“I need ammunition not a ride.”

I could see that being something quoted for decades.

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Romans 8:38-”For I am convinced...”

I believe this is from Marianne Williamson's 1992 book A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles which means it would be a 20th Century quote, rather than a 21st Century quote.
