I like the explanation of the expression "Keep on the Watch" As the Study Note says, the basic meaning is to stay awake. So while I don't need to let every world event poke me in the ribs to keep me awake, apparently some people do.

No one is saying that the end is here today or tomorrow… all I simply said was that it was relevant no more no less

 

 I also don’t see others doing that in fact I see the opposite we tend to err on the side of caution

I haven’t noticed anyone here saying this is it, this is it in regards to the P&S announcement, but i get emails forwarded to me from other friends who will forward me some video clip with someone wondering if this is it. More often than not, i research said video to find out it’s years old. So I’m guessing it got passed around on facebook or something but no one checks the source.
 

I know there are well meaning and excited friends, but it falls under the category of not doing anyone any favors to get excited over something that may or may not be the real deal. Wasn’t there one of the GB members who said something to that effect that we aren’t doing anyone any favors by saying things like you wont graduate from high school, the end will come before xx time. Hopefully we are learning the lesson not to run ahead of any announcement made by the GB.

 You might not see or hear others saying regarding the end, but I have. I have told one elder over 10 years ago that the end might last another 10 years. Do you think he appreciate these words?

Right there you said it. All I care about is God's Kingdom and it making known to all. I also care about this idiot Satan taking my friends and family and dividing all of us RIGHT NOW. The GB said it's just a matter of time with the UN, don't worry about a PS message.  My mind instantly went into deep ministry mode and I couldn't care less about how or when the UN does it. I trust the slave. Get to work... plain and simple.

I really love that we have one local brother who also makes it the first part of every congregation prayer, and he is not casual in the way he prays. There is deep reverence and emotion behind it, and you can tell how important it is to him.

Nothing happened in 1975. The book "Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God" came out in 1966 and it contained a neat and tidy chronology of the Bible since 4026 BCE up to 1975. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1101993009#h=70:0-71:312  If you do the math it is a duration of 6000 years. Some took it upon themselves to declare that 1975 will be the last year of this old system. I was once with an older brother who told someone that! Ouch! I reprimanded him, but nicely, though a younger man than he. He told me: "We have to get people moving! Look how close the end is!" That is not the way to do it. He died last year a faithful brother but never imagined the system would go on as long as it has. A few others actually believed it and when it didn't happen, they quit. I only knew one myself who left. He used to beat his wife and she left too and left him as well. Sigh.

 

We may get excited by world events, but God is the one who calls the shots.

 It's my understanding that the focus has shifted, or perhaps not shifted, but is highlighting the events at Rev 17:17 to be the next goalpost we all see.

 

I'm suspecting that once we see it, it's going to be faster than many think, and that the declaration of Peace and Security will be made to secure the newly formed power of the UN, then the UN gets rid of religion and the GT becomes the new scary normal.

None of this has been spoken, because there's nothing there to hang your hat on. It's just me reading between the lines.

So, the understanding of the cry of peace and Security I don't think has changed, I think perhaps the placement of it has, maybe? 

 

What are your thoughts?
