Exactly. Which shows that all these links to various world events and wondering if these are any indication how close we are to the end (especially in comparison to news events from previous weeks , previous years, or previous decades) is really pointless. Jehovah will put it into their hearts when he puts it into their hearts. He's not waiting on the right moment or right leader.

I respectfully disagree my brother. I don't think paying attention to world events is pointless. 

 

I think paying attention to world events show some of us solid evidence proof that Satan the devil and His wicked spirit co-rulers and his human co-rulers are completely incompetent and has ruined the human race almost to no repair. It give us  the proof that Satan is a liar. He and mankind cannot rule mankind.

 

I think that's the point the reason why the friends post these things. And can use these news 📰 🗞️ events to show non witnesses we have proof that this world 🌎 is corrupt and beyond repair by the current rulers.

 

We are just posting and/or archiving evidence this scripture is true and pointing it out to each other. So we can testify actually.             See below 👇🏾 Scripture.

You're obc not alone in how you feel. 

 

I agree it's important to be aware of current events. The organization sets the example. Israel goes to war and the featured article on the website is about will Armageddon be fought in the Middle East. Texas suffers a massive flood and the website features an article on natural disasters. We are encouraged to use current events in our ministry. 

 

But tell me this. We have 412 pages of discussions agonizing and dissecting every major news event. The focus on the actions of the President of the United States is intense. Tell me, what is the example our organization sets in this regard? Do we have such detailed website articles or Watchtower articles or videos that display this level of intensity in regards current events? 

 

Does keeping on the watch mean it is necessary to focus this intensely on the news? Is that what the Slave tells us? 

 

Does Jehovah need to wait for the right president or the right world conditions to implant his one thought or can he do so at any moment he chooses?

You right sometimes we go a little overboard with our analyzing the news. For some us it's helpful but it's understandable for some it's not. Personally I be more careful what I post 📯 so I'm not overwhelming anyone. And thank you for the counsel. 

 

Acts 17:31 says Jehovah has set a day so that day was probably set in the beginning of Satan, Adam and Eve rebellion, and now Jehovah is just sitting back and watching and waiting for the our clock to come to an end. There's another scripture that's Jehovah said he will speed things up in his time. So when I say he's just watching and waiting I know he's in control. So Jehovah knows who's will be the Kings of the Earth at the time of the end. We just don't know. And or guesses who will be in the end.

 

(Acts 17:31) 31 Because he has set a day on which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has provided a guarantee to all men by resurrecting him from the dead.”

 And, respectfully, Shawn isn't saying we shouldn't watch world events, or not to use them pinpoint to the prophecies in scripture. 

 

It's an undeniable fact though, that outcome immediately in front of us, is whether we are at the point of Jehovah stepping in. Because no matter who is in power, as pointed out, they want to keep that power.

 

For ALL the Kings to give their power to the UN as in Rev 17:17, it can only be by Jehovah’s hand, as these nations will stay proud and in opposition to Jehovah to the very end.

An ex-C.O. here once said that he mostly ignores the news but ‘just gets a newspaper once a week’, for the sake of the ministry.

It seemed like a good balance.

None of us think alike.  We are all different with different ideas, input and opinions.

 

We all know that we are on the threshold of the GT and, we are excited to see our deliverance getting near.

For me watching world events is important part or recognising the significance of our King’s presence. For example seeing wars on the increase plays well with prophecy about Peace and Security. If we had peaceful conditions on earth right now how would the prophecy be fulfilled? 
The war in Ukraine is significant as it involves KOTN and KOTS and many more countries indirectly. Nations are spending billions on it … yes nations .. not just one country. 
This war fulfills another prophecy about Revelation rider and its “death” harvest so to speak …Last year 2024, wars around the world took lives of 640 daily. So if someone does not to want watch world events or check links they are free to do so .. but what is happening around the world right now is crystal clear and indicative how close we are to the end.

I understand what you are saying, but once the rider of the fiery colored horse started taking away the peace of the world, do we need to watch and comment on every step the horse takes?

Jehovah can put the leader into place he wants in there, if that's what is to happen or he will maneuver a king's heart. He did it with Cyrus. The scriptures says a king's heart is like water in Jehovah's hands. He turns it wherever he pleases. So even if a ruler may seem one say in our eyes, Jehovah can instantly maneuver his heart like the water being diverted around Babylon. Proverbs 21:1

This time it’s Russia and so the pushing continues. 

You’re confusing tariffs with sanctions. He is putting tariffs on Western Europe, Japan, etc. (i.e., countries with whom the US has had relatively good relations), because, for decades, they have put out-of-this-world tariffs on US goods. He is threatening further sanctions against Russia (what they already are, I’m not sure) due to Putin’s refusal to move towards peace.
