Anyone else with a survival story?

At age 15 during XMas school brake I survived my tonsils being removed on a diet of Jell-O and apple juice. It was an ice storm and roads iced over and trees down. Unable to get more ice cream when we ran out. We kept the refrigerated items in the garage when we lost power due to ice on lines. Mom had kerosene lamps and wood for the fireplace. When the ice started to melt and tree limbs were braking off it sounded like gun fire. My expectations at 15 were not prioritized. 5 days without ice cream was a long time.

That doesn't do my freezer any good :lol1:

Where I live, almost everyone has solar panels, but when we need them the most, there's no sunshine. On the other hand, the whole country is a freezer at that time anyway... 😄

Oh, I have a gas grill.  Also a gas stove (electric ignition).  But that meat in the freezer isn't lasting long if the power fails for long.

What a terrible feeling! The atmosphere of this system is truly polluted, and it’s as if we can already smell the great tribulation coming. I find myself wondering: what else could possibly get worse?

Food prices keep rising, the cost of living is incredibly high, morality is rapidly declining, and violence is increasing at an alarming rate. People seem to have less and less patience, while stress and anxiety are taking over so many lives. Governments seem to be crushing people under the weight of endless demands and financial burdens. And on top of all that, wars continue to bring suffering and destruction to so many parts of the world.

It seems as though the entire world is overwhelmed by problems, and all of this is a striking characteristic of the times we are living in. It’s hard not to reflect on the meaning of these events in light of Bible prophecy. For those of us who know God’s Word, these events are a clear sign that Jehovah’s day is approaching! May we continue to strengthen our faith and trust in Jehovah’s promises, knowing that he will not allow all this suffering to continue forever.

As things continue to deteriorate, it really makes me wonder how big that cry of "peace and security" will be.

Yes, we Jehovah's people will surely notice this cry and we don't have a single reason to ignore it, even those inactives and removed ones will moved to go back to Jehovah's organization.

Here our brother mentioned that Jehovah CREATED time and established the speed at which time would pass. I believe that certain things we will only understand in the new world, but even then, that's not a certainty. In the new world, I would like to understand if Jesus is also outside of time, given that Jesus was the first creation and not time.

Some countries are doing a joint worst-case scenario drill, as they do occasionally. With nuclear war drills and preparations etc., that near every country has done multiple times at some point. A focus on this drill is: no power or internet. Other aspects are unclear and is with out explanation  (because military) that's why people may panic.

It's not NATO or U.N etc. It is an operation between a few of the worlds leading countries/nations militaries (you'd be surprised who is involved!). Everyone else, has no involvement and are trying to guess. That's where panic is growing, in the fear of the unknown.

Election Day in the US is Tuesday. If President Trump loses the House and the Senate, he would be open to impeachment and possible criminal conviction. What might he do? Declare martial law in the US, attempt a full dictatorship. Or drop a nuke on Iran. It's all speculation, but we know the great tribulation is coming soon.

Checking your info through Snopes : In 2017, a viral video said the Pentagon was going to shut down power to all of North America between Nov. 4 and 6. It turned out to be a routine Army radio exercise, and the Army said "There will be no turning off of the power grid or public or private communications." Those posts also claimed the military was hiding it from the media to avoid panic, which reporters noted should raise a red flag. Fact-checkers debunked similar global-blackout rumors earlier this year, saying this strategy of spreading fear using specific dates and timeframes for power outages is a recurring pattern on the internet.  (digital release.wkrn +3)
The election: the date is correct. The 2026 general election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and all 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are up for election, along with 35 U.S. Senate seats.  (abcnews4)  (newschannel9)
A few things in the message mix up how the system works:
The House can impeach with a simple majority. Removing a president takes a two-thirds Senate vote (67 senators), and winning the Senate doesn't give either party that many.
Impeachment isn't a criminal conviction. Criminal charges would go through the courts, separately.
Martial law, a dictatorship, or a nuclear strike on Iran are guesses about the future. No news report backs any of them, and I can't verify predictions.
About the great tribulation: You already know Jesus said no one knows the day or the hour (Matt. 24:36). Messages like this one build fear from things nobody can check. Keeping your eyes open while not getting caught up in rumors is a good way to stay calm.

I didn't mean that impeachment is a criminal conviction; it's not. But he has been charged with 34 counts of sexual assault/rape, which would normally result in a conviction and jail time.

From Claude : Jade Helm 15 was a large U.S. military training exercise that ran from July 15 to September 15, 2015. It became famous mostly because of the rumors around it.

What it actually was: U.S. Army Special Operations Command (Green Berets, Navy SEALs, and other special forces) practiced moving and operating over long distances in unfamiliar terrain. It took place on military bases and some private land, with permission, in Texas, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, California and Mississippi. The aim was to rehearse missions they might carry out overseas.

Why people panicked: One planning slide labeled Texas, Utah and part of California as "hostile" territory. That was just the made-up role-play scenario, but it set off rumors online:

The government was secretly preparing martial law.

The military was going to take over Texas.

Closed Walmart stores would be used as bases or detention centers.

Underground tunnels and "FEMA camps" were being readied for citizens.

The rumors spread far enough that Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas State Guard to monitor the exercise, a move that was widely criticized at the time.

What happened: Nothing. The exercise ended on schedule, there was no martial law, and everyone went home.

It's often pointed to as a classic example of what you were describing earlier: a military drill with limited public explanation, and fear of the unknown filling in the gaps.

I could not remember all the details except I kept hearing plenty of Okies and street dwellers saying they were busy building WalMarts to house all the citizens in. My husband said they will have to build around Leslie because she is always there...boy I miss his wit/witless comebacks

This was not meant for above Tortuga. It was in reply to @Barbllm

That was actually part of the response I was given. I just thought if a AI generated response has to remind me of what I know I better pay attention. I was not trying to hurt you and I guess I should have taken time as to how that might sting. I'm truly sorry. Please forgive.

Let's be more accurate.

ChatGPT:

Quote

1. "He has been charged with 34 counts of sexual assault/rape."

Trump was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree in New York.

The charges concerned payments made to Michael Cohen, who had paid $130,000 to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. The records allegedly disguised Trump's reimbursements to Cohen as legal expenses.

A jury found Trump guilty on all 34 counts on May 30, 2024. None of those 34 charges was for sexual assault or rape.

2. Was Trump accused of sexual assault or rape?

There is a separate case involving writer E. Jean Carroll.

Carroll accused Trump of sexually assaulting her in a department store dressing room in the 1990s.

In 2023, a civil jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation.

The jury did not find him liable for rape under the specific legal definition used in that case.

This was a civil lawsuit, not a criminal prosecution.

Trump denied Carroll's allegations.

Time as duration, not Time as before/after succession.
There was a moment when Jehovah was alone, then he created Jesus, that's succession in his existence. It's just that there wasn't a clock in heaven (no calculable duration, that's why the GB said Jehovah was alone for "eons and eons")

"Time as duration." So this means that this "time as duration" was not created, but rather was a consequence of Jehovah's actions. Jehovah acted; he began to act; he began to count time. Time as a result of actions.
