Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel’s “supreme objective” is stopping Iran from getting nuclear weapons, in a speech outlining his strategy as Israel battles Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Addressing Israeli soldiers graduating from a military officer course at a training base in southern Israel, Netanyahu said Iranian capabilities had been diminished following direct strikes and attacks on Iranian proxies.

“The brash words of the leaders of the regime in Iran cannot cover up the fact that Israel has greater freedom of action in Iran today than ever before. We can reach anywhere in Iran as needed,” the prime minister said.

“The supreme objective that I have set for the IDF and the security services is to prevent Iran from attaining nuclear weapons,” he added.

“Halting the nuclear program has been – and remains – our chief concern. I have not removed, we have not removed and we will not remove our eyes from this goal.”

When striking Iran last week, Israel targeted missile manufacturing sites and aerial defense systems rather than nuclear facilities.

Due to an increased potential for civil unrest in the coming days, our body of elders have decided it would best not to meet in person for field service this Tuesday and Wednesday.  Meetings for field service will be held only on Zoom.  Also, this week’s mid-week meeting will be held only on Zoom and not in person.  We will let you know if there are any changes to this plan. 

Although we do not wish to cause undue alarm, Proverbs 22:3 states: “The shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself.” Since a disturbance can arise unexpectedly, we encourage family heads to consider what steps they may take to protect their family.  These steps may include avoiding unnecessary travel, not leaving their home at night, and avoiding areas prone to protests, if possible.

We encourage everyone to have sufficient supplies as you would normally do when preparing for a disaster such as a hurricane.  If you need assistance with getting supplies, let us know as soon as possible.  We highly recommend you get what is needed no later than Monday.  

Just a few practical suggestions:

-Confirm that your go bag is ready
-Maintain a full tank of gas in your vehicles
-Keep cell phones fully charged. 
-Review your family evacuation plan

FYI: The US Branch has advised Circuit Overseers and Elders to remind the congregations to be prepared for civil unrest that is appropriate for their area, so not all congregations in the US will receive the same information.

 

Depending on their location and the potential for unrest, the elders may consider making temporary adjustments for the regularly scheduled meetings and field service arrangements.  Since a civil unrest can start unexpectedly, the brothers may encourage family heads to consider what steps they may take to protect their family. Families may want to avoid unnecessary travel, leaving their home at night, and going to areas prone to protests

My husband has been on cell and chat with elders.  Other then to use caution all is well.  However, we are alert.

My area is filled with redneck Republicans, diehard followers of Trump. Constantly like to push the political talk and the “blankety-blank” Biden this and “blankety-blank” Harris that.

 

Half the time, even in field service we constantly get confronted with this garbage. Major test of neutrality. Watching things very closely on my end. My elders have already sounded the alarm several times to make plans on how we would protect our families.

 

My hope is, are that things end peacefully, but we all know what times we live in.

That sounds like a recipe for chaos to me...
