They did not know 'the day or hour', only the impending crisis. How thankful they must have been to receive the timely letter from Paul some five years before the assault on the City and surrounding areas.

Further distance themselves? That is not true at all, they are not distancing, but coming together gradually. China is shipping more and more material that Russia needs to build weapons, and by some reports it even started shipping some suicide drones lately. Today there are some speculations that communication cable that was damaged in the Baltic sea yesterday was damaged by Chinese vessel that was docked in Russia few days before that. And I think that there is a lot more support that China is giving to Russia covertly.

EDIT: Actually two cables were damaged.

OTOH, N.Korea seems to want to play with the big boys and may want to ingratiate itself with Russia by using its nuclear weapons. You know, the ones that are capable of reaching the US..

Maybe ..maybe not, just reporting news and what others say. 

What is happening in the world is fast changing and unpredictable.

So I refrain from even speculating what Russia does next and how China reacts and ete..etc...

Really I already have a 2 radiation meeters - one as a little module can be plugged in to smartphone, one a cheap DIY detector from Soviet army sensor. Both works with my little pieces of glass that are uran`s containing and some other matherial.

 

Interesting that in 1980x US government (with help of one Physic Nobel laureate) developed cheap radio meter that can be made literally from a garbage: trash empty bean cans, foil, threads and paper and its really working!  No batteries - works as an electroscope.
