Latest on RSS Feeds for JW.ORG

Recommended Posts

I may well have missed the boat on this (I do get Feedrabbit emails for new items on NEWS.JW.ORG), but is there any current way to get email updates for the latest VIDEOS or WHAT'S NEW ?

I did find the following website [Warning - cannot vouch for the site below], but unfortunately I know nothing about it or who created it. Quite possibly it is a technically-inclined brother, going by the related blog, but I would like to be sure.

https://tvrss.polosatus.ru/

Does anyone know more about this site or any potentially safer alternatives?

Also found this one, again [Warning - cannot vouch for the site below] for the WHAT'S NEW. Same questions apply.

EDIT: I can find an RSS Feed / Podcast for Audio / MP3 on JW.ORG, but that's about it, apart from the NEWS one.

If you are talking about ways to get email subscription for What's New page, then there are number of RSS services that will allow you to do that. However I personally like to receive them live, I have never used email function.

The official RSS feed link for What's New section on our web site is provided as below:

https://www.jw.org/en/whats-new/rss/WhatsNewWebArticles/feed.xml

This is a pure RSS XML code. As you can see from the link, it is provided from jw.org, so you can be assured of using this link. You need to use it with conjunction of an RSS feeder of your choice for it to work. I personally use feeder.co.

As for subscriptions for latest videos, I am not aware of any official links. However, checking with raw codes for https://tvrss.polosatus.ru seems to suggest me it receives info directly from the jw.org server. I am curious of how it is done, or if the official RSS link even exists!

I think this might have been lost in translation, as maybe English is not his first language.

He ends the comment with "pacifists as Jehovah's witnesses are?"

So I would say likely he is a brother.

Thanks so much, I'm trying this out on feedrabbit.com

Most brothers would not call Jehovah's Winesses pacifist because we are not pacifists.

Actually, I would hope no true brother or sister would describe themselves as being a pacifist!!

Why Jehovah’s Witnesses Are Not Pacifists
Were Jehovah’s Witnesses today to claim to be pacifists, it would mean for them to denounce all the pre-Christian witnesses of Jehovah who took up arms to uphold Jehovah’s universal sovereignty and his theocratic nation of Israel. But this denunciation we cannot make. Jesus Christ never did so, and he is Jehovah’s greatest witness... Jehovah himself is no pacifist. Neither are his witnesses such, although they are conscientious objectors. Jesus was no pacifist.

Not everyone has the correct understanding of what pacifist means.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

Yes, especially a person who is not a native English speaker. It's possible it might be the closest word they have, or just the generally accepted term over there.

I think we can all read between the lines and understand what he meant 🙂

Hey, I'm pretty sure you can't use the "No True Scotsman" argument quoting a 1951 article. 😜 Maybe a 1997 article. 🤪

We could, of course, give our foreign-speaking brother the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure he understands that we don't object to righteous wars 🙂

As the What's New RSS Feed doesn't include Videos, I've decided to try out the above. I'm not making a recommendation though. It's hard to be 100% sure about these things. I've scanned it for threats and not found any, and as someone mentioned above, a brief look at the source indicates it gets its feed data directly from JW.ORG.

So it's just something to try out at this stage. I can always unsubscribe in FeedRabbit if something goes wrong.

I know I could keep going to JW TV and checking, but sometimes reminders just work better for me and help me track where I'm at.

Hello everyone, I recently created my own JW subscription called 'JWPUBS RSS Subscription.'

These subscriptions are based on JW APIs and is available on all languages as jw.org.

The subscription available are:

ARTICLE

  • Latest Articles

VIDEO

  • Latest Videos
  • Studio News Reports

AUDIO

  • Original Songs

Sing Out Joyfully:

  • Meetings
  • Vocals
  • Instrumental

More subscriptions are planned. The Watchtower and Awake magazines are also planned but it is still recommended to use the RSS from JW Apps website.

Request can be made to get the links for the subscription. REMINDER: You will need an RSS reader for the links to work.

Not planned:

  • JW News and JW Alerts - No available subscription.
  • Kingdom Melodies and Our Kingdom Ministry - Deprecated.

For those who have the link for the JWPUBS RSS Subscription that I previously offered upon request:

Please do not share that link with anyone anymore. This current subscription service will continue to run for those who still use it, but it is no longer available to new subscribers. The current subscription service currently offers 149 different subscriptions.

A new subscription service that will replace this current one will be available in early 2025. No further comments will be provided.

Thank you.

JWPUBS™ RSS Subscription Library

NEW RELEASE

The new RSS Subscription Library is now available, replacing the legacy Media Subscription tool released in June 2024. Unlike its predecessor—which focused primarily on media feeds—this updated library offers a comprehensive range of subscription options for various types of content. Subscribers can receive automatic notifications whenever new releases or updates become available, without needing to manually visit the website.

Broader Range of Content

  • Publications: Books, brochures, and other printed materials.

  • Media: Audio and video recordings.

  • Applications: App updates such as the library app.

  • Periodicals: Magazines and meeting workbooks.

There are now more than 400 different RSS feeds to choose from. Each feed can be subscribed to individually, making it possible to receive notifications for specific items rather than subscribing to an entire category.

How It Works

  1. Select an RSS Reader or Podcast App
An RSS reader (such as Feedly or Feeder) or a podcast app (such as Apple Podcasts or YouTube Music) can be used to manage subscriptions.

  2. Locate the RSS Feed Links
Choose the feeds of interest from the RSS Subscription Library. Copy the specific feed URLs for the categories or individual items that need updates.

  3. Add the Feeds to the Reader
Paste the copied feed links into the chosen RSS reader or podcast app. The application will periodically check for new content and deliver notifications whenever updates are detected.

  4. Stay Informed
Receive alerts automatically, which helps save time and ensures that new releases or updates are not missed.

Key Advantages

  • Automatic Notifications
Notifications arrive as soon as updated content is published, eliminating the need for constant manual checks on the website.

  • Personalized Subscriptions
Subscribing to a broad selection or just one item provides complete control over the type and volume of notifications received.

  • Convenient Access
RSS readers and podcast apps offer multi-device support, making it easy to stay updated on smartphones, tablets, or computers.

  • Time-Saving
Immediate notifications about new releases allow for quicker engagement with updated content.

Additional Resources

Comprehensive instructions on using the RSS Subscription Library—including details on how to use the tool and how to use the RSS feed URLs—are provided at: www.jwpubs.org/tools/subscription.

Sections titled “How To Use This Tool” and “How to Subscribe and Stay Updated” contain practical information and tips on getting the most out of RSS subscriptions.

If you have any questions or comments, please message me via DM. Feedback is always welcome and helps improve the experience.

I hope this new library will be helpful for publishers who want to be notified when there are new updates and releases.

I’ll review if it is possible. Because this will involve rewriting several lines of codes and I’m already developing and testing the version 4 of the rss feeds which wouldn’t be out within the next few months.

Also this kind of feeds are extremely heavy.
