Another Extreme Weather Event for NSW Australia--Sydney's Suburbs Flooding

Nerves must be frazzled with the news always about flood flood floods! It’s very heartbreaking knowing those homes just got cleaned out and there’s muck through them again. Not to mention the loss of animals and farmland again. 😢

The river peaked at town at 13.71 (45'8") at 1:30am and has stayed at that height thus far.

 

Spare a thought for a Taree northeast from us, they had just received 30.5cm (1ft) of rain in the past 24hrs. 😳

Well the river is going down, currently 12.41m (41' 4").

 

Below was taken yesterday at the flood's highest, this is a pan view starting from the left to going to the right (looking SE, then south and finally SW) just down from the road from where we live.

 

 

My brother-in-law (centre) and his son (left) and his daughter (right) families lives at these houses (circled). I guess they wont be coming for dinner tonight.

 

 

This morning on my way to work over looking the river, as this is just down the road from our home (1km west), but just upstream from my brother-in-laws.

 

 

Then looking downstream from the bridge we cross to get into town 2km from home (this is taken from the old bridge which is now converted into a footpath).

 

 

Then looking back towards town, the water below is backwater from the river which is covering farmland.

 

 

 

Then on the other side of the bridge on the farmland.

 

 

I couldn't get any photos from the upstream as there isn't a walkway on the other side of the bridge.

 

Most of the brothers are all okay (one or two are isolated from town due to road closures), and nobody has had any flooding issues, even though some of the streets in town as under water (storm water drains were closed before the flood and the emergency services are have been pumping them out from the drains nearby to the river since Wednesday).
