A way to merge JW Library files?

I just tried this, smooth operation, but where is the merged file sent? I cannot find it, nor anywhere to select a choice of locations!

After submitting, I see this in the address bar.

https://jwlmerge.02072005.xyz/index.php?lang=en&output=File+upload+failed.

I am thinking there is a glitch!

I just checked the logs, it seems one of the file is more than 10Mo.

Can you check it?

Hello,

I just made a web interface to go-jwlm.

You can try if you want.

Note that go-jwlm does not support Playlist.

This file merger seems to work for me. Does anyone else use it? Has anyone found any problems with it?

I used it in June, and it worked well back then - with the exception of "playlists".

I manually reviewed and deleted duplicate lines in the excel data file.

Then after I combined the data files, I sent them up the line to my devices.

It's about time I merge ('sync') my devices.

I will have a full set of backups to fall back on, should there be an issue.

And a full export of my playlists...

When did you use it last, Richard?

Today.

I wanted to merge three devices, so I merged two files, then merged the third file with the merged file, so all three of them are merged into one file now. Everything worked fine.

For those who are looking for a way to merge JW Library backups off-line (without the potential risks of sharing your data), I am the developer of the following three solutions:

  • JWLManager - GUI app for Linux, macOS and Windows
    • in addition to merging, allows you to manage your data in different ways
  • jwlFusion - command-line merge utility for Linux, macOS and Windows
  • jwlFusion App - Android merge app

All three are free and ad-free.

The complications of "conflict resolution" are removed by designating the "authoritative" (primary/principal) archive. If you want more fine-grained control, JWLManager lets you export and import only certain records, so you can create custom backups.

I hope these prove to be useful.

Please allow me the question if there will be an iOS app in the future.

I would like to have an iOS version, BUT Apple charges $99/year for a developer account, and for an app that is free, it just doesn't make sense.

Now, if there is an iOS dev out there who would like to collaborate, please get in touch.
