JW Library on android devices

Recommended Posts

Hi there another question.... Can I download the JW Library ( not the app ) on an android device??  ( Android 8.1 )

I'm asking so that if there is no internet I can still do research with this library instead of being dependant on the internet..?

I did try once before but I think I made some kind of mistake...so I figured I'd ask here...

Thanks for any help...

I may be tired and in pain :wheelchair: but I'll never   :surrender: to it just send some encouraging words or hugs  :kisscheek:  :encourage:  and I'll return the same   :kisscheek:  :encourage:

I'm not sure what you are looking for so I'll list the opyions and we'll see which one is best for you.

WOL (Watchtower Online) is a great tool for research, but it requires the internet to access it. So that isn't what you want.

WTLIB (Watchtower Library) is a wonderful collection of research material and is very good for research, however it is a Windows based application. It periodically has updates available that installs the latest publications on your Windows device. It requires the Internet for the Updates but doesn't require the Interdent for normal use. It is Windows based and you need the app to access the publications, so that isn't what you want.

JWLIB (JW Library) Is an app that is available for Android, Windows and Apple. It doesn't search as well as WOL and WTLIB but it does have the Indexes and Research Guide available so it can be used to research. You can highlight and create notes, so it is a better study tool than WOL and WTLIB. It requires the Internet to download the publications, but it doesn't require Internet access to study what you have downloaded.

I think you want to install the JW Library app on your device if it is compatible with Android 8.1.

You have to download the publications and material to make use of it when you have no internet.  A download of all the library publications and audio and some of the videos uses about 80 GB of storage on my devices.  Make sure you have enough space to store them for non-internet use.

Your Android device may have additional storage available in the form of an SD Card slot to put a storage chip.  You can select the chip as the place to put your downloads in JW Library.

Are you thinking of the Watchtower Library that used to come on CDs?

yes I was hoping to be able to use this on my android device so I wouldn't have to use the internet all the time.

I have the JW library app for android, just wanted to see if I could use the other one ...the searchablity on the cd version is much better I find.

Yes, the WTL has an excellent search feature and the maximum amount of publications available. It is my favorite theocratic library.  Unfortunately, it is only available in Windows (or Windows emulators).  That is why I have one Windows tablet (actually a 2-n-1 device) just so I have the digital library available off-line.

Yes I too like,  not just the search feature but the fact the WTL has so many more publications to look at.  I have it loaded on my PC and Windows laptop.  One of my friends wondered where someone got some information that she hadn’t seen on her research using online library and JW Library.  I told her about WTL and we loaded it onto her Windows tablet.  It has always been Windows only though I did know that a few years ago there was the ability to have it on Macs.  I also love the update feature of it too.
