JW Library Playlist: Slideshow & Timing Techniques

Recommended Posts

I have dropped  some images in to my playlist slideshow.

Each slide has 4 options: Continue; Stop; Freeze; Repeat.

As far as I know, these are the 4 outcomes:

1. Continue will show the current slide for 4 seconds, and move to the next.

2. Stop will play the image for 4 seconds, then drop back to the Year Text.

3. Freeze will show the slide for 4 seconds, and then freeze/pause on the image.

4. Repeat will show the image- until it is stopped.

Questions:

Is there any way I can display an image for 40 seconds? (Other than 'Continue' it 10 times, with the last one being a 'Stop'?

What is the difference between 'Freeze' and 'Repeat'? (My guess this is to make a "music" playlist, and you want to maybe repeat music before the meeting etc. The same is for the 'Shuffle' option. I do not see a reason to shuffle slides in a talk. lol)

Any other tips and techniques would be appreciated.

Also, any comments on image type (bmp vs jpg etc) would be welcome.

Are there any recommendations as to minimum size (1MB?) or pixel resolution (1200x600?), so that the  big screen at the KH does not look too pixelated...?

  • At the moment, there is no option to keep the image for a custom amount of time, other than what we already have.

  • Think of Freeze as 'Pause.' In the list, 'Continue' plays all media in the playlist, 'Stop' halts the slideshow and returns to the playlist, 'Freeze' pauses the slideshow at its current point without closing it, and 'Repeat' replays the same media continuously.

  • For compatibility, JPG or PNG formats are preferred. PNG usually produces a crisper image due to its lossless format, compared to JPG.

  • There is no recommended minimum size. Image size depends on the complexity of the image content.
  • The recommended resolution depends on the size of the screen. Most TVs nowadays are high definition, so you can opt for 720p resolution, and it shouldn't appear too pixelated.

We just use OnlyM, as we never have have an issue when dispayinh pictures, websites, videos, pdf etc. We get all sorts of files from brother presenting their talks.

Our C/O still uses Soundbox when he takes the field services groups, as he can use the remote feature from his phone to stop-stop videos or pictures.
