Appreciating Jehovah's Creation

Recommended Posts

I wanted to start this thread because for the first time in my life, I finally saw a comet; more specifically, comet A3 which is seen in the western sky just after sunset. It was breath-taking! To think that we're small creatures with an affinity to appreciate such beautiful yet massive inanimate objects blazing through outer space. Makes me really think of how Jehovah created things in a way that no matter how mundane things seem to be - like a rock passing through space that got a little too close to the sun - it is still done with majesty. Please feel free to share your unique experiences that you've had with Jehovah's creation.

Instances like this cause us to be in awe of the Extent of Jehovah's Creation.

Astronomers tell us that some stars we see now are so far away that the light we see today was emitted by these stars years ago (or hundreds, or thousands of years ago.

The point that Jehovah is the source of all of this energy is almost beyond what we can understand.

We do not how far Jehovah has spread out his spirit creatures. If they are as far away as these distant stars, how does he communicate with them?

That fastest speed mankind has identified is the speed of light. That is a physical manifestation of our ability to percieve things with our eyes. Scientists also tell us that is the speed at which radio signals travel through space. It there a faster meidum that Jehovah can use to communicate with his spirit creatures?

Part of the problem is that we only understand the things and forces mankind has been able to identify. Years ago a CO made a comment at an Elders' meeting that "spirit creatures have a totally different molecular construction than we have."

Discriptions of spirit creatures in the Bible are presented in terms of what we as humans can understand (imagine? concieve? think of?) Human science has made us aware of molecules, but we cannot see them with the naked eye. Do spirit creatures even have a molecular structure, or is their existence something totally different that we cannot at present understand?

Despite what the nature of existence is of Jehovah and other spirit creatures, the Bible record gives us plenty of proof that Jehovah cares for his human creation, and makes ample provision for our sustenance, and enable us to show faith in him.

We my have better understanding of some of these things in the new system.

Also, they may be things about which we have no need to understand.

Whatever the case, we can have assurance that Jehovah will fulfill all of his promises and will care for mankind, and bless us if we are faithrul to him.

Thinks,

Jim

Which direction were you looking?

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Romans 8:38-”For I am convinced...”

My guess would be west, since it's after sunset and it's still light on the horizon and he does say it was in the western sky, but I could be wrong..:whistling:

There is so much to Marvel in Jehovah's creation that I really could go on and on. But I will just try to leave one other observation. If the thread gets big enough long enough, I can add more in the future.

One of the most profound experiences of my life, one that deepened my appreciation for Jehovah in ways I could never have imagined, was the birth of my son.

I remember the hours before his arrival vividly. As I waited, I found myself grappling with a deep concern: how could I love someone I had never met, someone only his mother had known? It troubled me. I sought the counsel of an elder, who assured me, “The love will come.”

And then, in those first moments after his birth, everything changed. As I held him, reflecting on Jehovah’s immense sacrifice—giving His Son for us—I understood Jehovah’s love in a new way. There is no one, not even a stranger, for whom I would ever willingly give up my son’s life. Yet Jehovah gave His Son, not just for those who know and love Him, but even for those who deny and reject Him. Still, He loves them unconditionally. It’s a love far beyond our grasp, but one we glimpse through parenthood.

As life went on and our family grew with three children, I thought I had discovered all the love my heart could hold. I watched them grow up, marry, and build lives of their own. Family, such a marvelous part of Jehovah’s design, expanded, intertwining grandparents, aunts, uncles, and in-laws. Then, one day, the extraordinary happened again. One of our children told us they were expecting. I wondered how I could love even more. But when my grandson was born, Jehovah showed me again that the heart’s capacity to love is limitless.

The love I feel for my grandchildren is different from what I feel for my children, yet just as intense. And to think—this capacity for love will keep growing forever. Jehovah’s intention was always for love to expand and deepen, generation after generation, without end. It’s awe-inspiring to witness, like watching a miracle unfold—His design for love, always growing, always blossoming.

None of this is written in disregard to the essential and universal Christian love we share with all our brothers and sisters. This familial love only adds to the depth of appreciation we have for Jehovah’s broader, unifying love that embraces all of us as His children.

It was directly west. I was also using a star tracker app to aid in finding it. Just make sure that if your phone has mag-safe accessories on it, take it off and calibrate your phone's internal compass first when using the app.
