( A household of Witnesses in the 1980s)

My Dad liked Andy Griffith. I liked the music.

My mom loved the Waltons.

I couldn't stand it. The music depressed me. The only part I liked was .. Gnite Jon Boy.

My mom and dad watched Mash. The music depressed me. But I liked the helicopter.

My brother ( not a witness ) watched " Dallas". I liked the intro music.

My sister ( a witness) watched Miami Vice. I liked the Music

Me, the little kid. I watched the Cosby Show before going to meetings.

Then there were Mini Series. I specifically remember Lonesome Dove as a big deal. A man needs a leg to kick a pig! I remember laughing at that line. The snake scene scared me to death.

Not sure if those are Boomer Tv. You old folks.

I will leave out the movies i went to the neighbor kids house and watched.

Happy Days

Have Gun Will Travel

Branded

The Rifleman

Wanted Dead or Alive

Bonanza

The Big Valley

Benny Hill

Black Adder

Even though they are still shown in reruns and a franchise that includes movies and TV shows, the Original Star Trek gets criticized and probably would not have been aired today

'Science Fiction Theater' (back in the 50's)

My Favorite Martian

The Invaders (with Roy Thinnes)

The First Wave (Sebastian Stan as Cade Foster) A Canadian show picked up by SciFi Channel

There are quiet a few movies that also wouldn't be able to be done today as well.

Mel Brooks has said that "Blazing Saddles" couldn't be made today with the stereotyping that it had, and even some of his later movies such as SpaceBalls, The Producers, Young Frankenstein (almost coped an "R" rating in its day due to one scene at the end of the movie) would have a few issues as well.

Airplane!

The Naked Gun movies

Revenge of the Nerds

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

Animal House

The Gods Must Be Crazy

The Jerk

The Toy

Police Academy movies

Monty Python movies

The First Wave actor should have Sebastian Spence instead of Sebastian Stan

"Family Affair" too fluffy and nice for the modern taste — although wouldn't be surprised to see it on The Hallmark channel.

The Banana Splits

"Sigmund and the Sea Monsters

Or were these only local to the New England TV market—ME, MA, NH, VT, etc.?

my  younger brother watched these shows; he was the tv viewer in the house, got up before school and turned the set on, which confounded me as there was so much to do before school. Then I  got  married and my (now late) husband was the tv and movie watcher, Now, I think tv has grown on me. There were  several shows specific to the Boston area, especially the Chidren's television network.

There was one called Zoom (nothing to do with the videoconference platform today (of course)), WGBH Boston. All I remember about it was bunch of kids running around with black and red Rugby shirts 😂.

Electric Company, with Morgan Freeman as a regular presence, I'm guessing was more a national kid show? Both seemed to be a 'next level' kid show when one outgrows (or graduates?) from the Sesame Street  pseudo-educational, television experience. They're all pseudo-educational I suppose.

Gonna zooma zooma zoom. Loved those intricate lyrics. Sesame st pioneered in  late 1969/70 and zoom circa 1971. my cousin was early married and had an early daughter. she loved zoom and wanted a striped shirt. the day he grandmother got her one, she was dressed up and waiting for the show and the cast appeared wearing different outfits. how affected were audiences by  the tv shows back in the days? reading rainbow featured bill cosby and had  a long run (Picrure pages). i think levr burton was also  on that program.

Reading Rainbow was hosted by actor and executive producer LeVar Burton, who when the show premiered was then known for his role in Roots. After the featured story, Burton visits many places relating to the episode's theme, often featuring interviews with guests. The purpose of the show was to encourage a love of books and reading among children. Each episode centered on a topic from a featured children's book that is explored through a number of on-location segments or stories. The show also recommends books for children to look for when they go to the library.

Bill Cosby was featured on one episode of Reading Rainbow where he narrated "Arthur's Eyes," a story of Arthur the aardvark getting glasses. He also appeared frequently on Sesame Street, including recurring roles and guest appearances. He was a regular cast member, playing the character "Hank" during the first two seasons (1971-1973) of The Electric Company, which was produced by the same team as Sesame Street.

I'm not a boomer but I remember this airing very late at night on Cartoonnetwork

It is interesting to see that the director (Richard Donner) of that show also directed a lot of blockbuster movies, such as Superman 1 & 2 (even though was uncredited with the original but they released his version in 2006), The Toy, The Goonies, Scrogoed, Maverick, the Lethal Weapon movies.
