US Gas prices - up or down?

I had to Google it but there hasn't been a new oil refinery built in the US in nearly 50 years. But that doesn't determine the total gasoline production. Refineries can expand their capacity and gasoline production. So if you decide to research it, look for the total gasoline production each year over the last few years.

I just noticed this.

I pray for no new refineries. I grew up about a half mile from a Clark Oil refinery (Blue Island, Illinois) in the 1970s. It was absolutely horrible- the smoke pollution, the smell.. 🤢🤮 I was so happy to see it shut down. Long after we'd moved away from there, but still..

It is unimaginable and disgusting that the government or anyone believes that rebuilding those factories will make life better for anyone. They were a blight.

A lot has changed in the last 50 years. The last refinery that I worked at was safer and cleaner than the freeway next to it.

White House launches Freedom Fuel gas stations. They're in this region https://share.google/cC5b6p2s0pgNJOsbN

Wow! 25 total stations (that no one can say where they are). That should at least help some.

Trump causes the gas prices to go up and then gets praised for providing cheaper gas. It sounds like 1984 to me...😖

Costco in Bellingham, WA: $4.05

Up here near Vancouver, BC, the prices fluctuate like crazy, why? I'm going to guess greed might be a big factor.😅

We went from $1.75/litre ($4.66/gallon USD) one day to $1.49/litre ($3.97/gallon USD) the next day and then $1.82/litre ($4.85/gallon USD) the next day....

You get whiplash looking at gas prices😂

I have a feeling things are going to change again...

I worked in operations for 46 years in chemical plants. Safety and Environment have definitely improved over the years. You actually benefit working in a dangerous unit because of the lengths the companies go through to keep you safe. They don’t want leaks because it costs them money in loss of efficiency. They don’t want to flare because essentially that is money that’s burning. The white clouds you see coming from sites are water for example steam or condensation from cooling towers. It bewilders me to hear folks complaining as they drive their cars, use plastic, drink from aluminum cans. I look at the downtown skyline where so many drive to work in their cars made of and using chemicals, and they ignore the brown clouds of pollution hanging above them.

Folks please realize you can lament where you live, complain about the government’s, worry about the environment but nothing is going to get better in this system. Soon all the tanks, columns, control rooms will be gone. We will walk or ride animals to get where we want to go not feeling a need to rush, we will eat food without chemicals, no human government making stupid irrational decisions. No more racism, prejudice, you know the list! So just chill until then, focus on the good, pray, preach and strengthen yourself. Let’s spend our time on things like arguing over generations, dates, who will or won’t be resurrected. Those type topics make my day. Topics about how unfair this system is such a downer.

Let's talk about clean energy vehicles (including planes, trains, ships) because I'm not keen on walking or riding an animal everywhere- especially in my nice clothes on my way to a weddingor something.  Even MORE especially across an ocean or mountain range... or it's raining or snowing or hot... ☺️

Who wants to take months to get anywhere?

Most of all our ancestors, no doubt. :lol1:

OK, seriously now.  My belief is that this planet, like our bodies, is designed to withstand and repair a certain amount of damage. A certain annual level of pollution could likely go unnoticed if used in a balanced way.

Jehovah gave us these big brains to use. We need to crawl before we walk and walk before we run. Combustion engines might be a necessary stepping stone to even greater, cleaner methods of transportation.

This doesn't knock walking, riding bikes or animals, or whatever else.  There is room for everything.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

😄 Our ancestors probably didn't *want* to take that long.. what choice did they have? And I guaranTEE Mary would've liked a smoother journey to Bethlehem at nine months pregnant than on the back of a donkey! 😖😄

Jehu felt the need for speed to the point he was known for it.. imagine him getting his hands on a Ferrari!  😎

Once the ancestors come back and see what great strides in transport have been made, I don't think months traveling on a camel will hold as much charm anymore.. 😉
