I'm going to Canada with my family in June

If you want to get a complete view of Canada - so the rocky mountains of the west, the islands of the west, the prairies of mid-provinces, Toronto, Quebec life, the quietness and tranquility of the east coast and it‘s islands, you can take a tour on a simulated flight airplane…ah I just checked. They don‘t do cross Canada anymore. Shame. You would have enjoyed it very much. But they have similar shows. https://www.flyovercanada.com/

https://www.viator.com/Canada/d75. Some great sight seeing ideas.

I was born and raised in Vancouver and lived in Toronto also for 7 years. I travelled by car from Vancouver-Toronto and back, so am familiar with the beauty of Canada. I have been to Montreal. But I have yet to visit the islands of the east coast. Would love to!

If you want some amazing views and hiking trails, and chance to see wildlife, bears and other animals, I recommend the west coast. Vancouver is amazing for that. A mix of city, beaches, ocean, parks, Granville Island market, and mountains all in one. Also recommended are the Vancouver Islands and the various places there are worth the trip. Even traveling into the interior of British Columbia is a beautiful world of its own. Alberta (the next province over) is also full of wildlife, and lots love that bit of laid back way of life.

The prairies in the middle are just that. Not much going on. Sorry you prairie people! Toronto, Ottawa and Quebec are filled with lots of life and its own culture. Niagara Falls is breathtaking, and there are some wineries in Ontario worth a visit. Toronto has an underground city to so-to-speak, stretching from one part of downtown to the other, also a couple of beaches, lakeshores, and the CN tower and visiting Center Island or other locations, like High Park are nice.

Quebec is very unique in its own way, and since you speak French, would be nice to visit those friends and get to know their culture. The east coast is brilliant with lots of peaceful scenery apparently. So depending on what you want to do. Check out the different links and check your budget. Not always cheap to stay in Canada, but it is manageable if you search carefully.

Also Vancouver is known for its amazing international restaurants, world class. But across Canada is getting that way, too.

If you want to go off the beaten path, go up North. I’m talking about the Yukon and Northwest Territories. Endless wilderness and abundant wildlife. You will not regret it.

One place I will recommend, however, is in Northern BC. Place called Liard Hot Springs along the Alaska Highway. You’ll see large herds of bison; just be careful not to hit them!

There is a scenic railroad trip you need to check out; the White Pass Railway. It starts in small town called Carcross, and will take you over the border to Skagway, AK. If you ever head up my way you should check it out.

Everyone always focuses on the big cities and this and that, but Canada has a lot of natural treasure in its rugged wilderness. Not to mention the friendly and rugged people up here.

Even a whole lifetime would not be enough to explore it all…

Leviticus 19:18: “‘You must not take vengeance nor hold a grudge against the sons of your people, and you must love your fellow man as yourself.”

Oh you can get this not so far from the big and small cities, in the outskirts. Especially in the interior of BC, or Vancouver Island. Trees so wide, tall and old, forests so deep, that you are in awe of Jehovah‘s creation. But it depends what one wants to experience in Canada…is it the culture, the people, the beautiful sights or top sightseeing spots, or national parks and nature. Alaska is a different country of its own, which is mostly nature and wildlife, and not exactly close by. Canada is a mix of everything. So depends on if you want to visit Canada, or visit the nature of Alaska.

Montréal

You will love Montreal if you haven’t been there before, I was born there. The food there is amazing, I totally recommend to pay a visit at the Schwartz Deli if you like smoked meats sandwiches. Hope you have fun visiting.

To go along with what Carl said, please do not leave without trying some poutine! Cheese curds along with gravy and fries; you will love it! You’re going to the birthplace of it right there.

I have to agree with Elijah, trying some poutine is definitely a must for things to eat.

As a guidance, Quebec fast food chains have the best poutines there,  Belle Province and Lafleur are probably my top two favorites and are in around Saint Catherines which is like the Main Street of Montreal, the other Main Street is Saint Laurent Blvd and thats where Schwartz Deli is.
