I always forget @jwhess. There is a WT article reference that says Jehovah may reveal the complete list of 144,000 in the new world. It has something to do with the names written in the book of life. An article before the Pandemic.

(If found, kindly share the link anyone)

*** dx86-25 144,000 ***
names may all come to be known by “other sheep”: w20.01 26; w16.01 26; w06 7/15 12; w89 8/15 20

It will be interesting to see who did and who didn't make the list..:whistling:

I have always wondered how do the Governing Body gets chosen. Our  organization says Jesus Christ does the choosing of who will be on the Governing Body. I understand that but how do the organization know who Jesus Christ the head of the Christian congregations chosen. And has there been any the organization chosen but Jesus Christ didn't choose?

Just me asking and wondering, I'm sure 😃 I'm not the only one who has this question . Lol 🤣 😹

Matthew 5:46,47 For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have?

Are not also the tax collectors doing the same thing? And if you greet your brothers only, what extraordinary thing are you doing? Are not also the people of the nations doing the same thing?💜🤎🖤

The selection pool is very small - long time special full time servants are exclusively considered. Of these, only anointed ones would be selected to serve. It’s most likely a very small number of those to choose from.

Descobriremos no novo sistema.

There is no division in the body of which Jesus is the head. Today Jesus leads the congregation. Here on earth we still have different points of view, but the anointed congregation in heaven and resurrected are united in the same way of thinking. The governing body here on earth only makes a decision on a matter when there is total agreement. If by chance it is not possible to have 100% agreement among each of the members, the decision or agenda is postponed.

Sempre me perguntei como o Corpo Governante é escolhido.

Rsrs 🤣 😹

the requirement is to be anointed and have a long history of loyal service to Jehovah. I believe that the members of the governing body are ordinary brothers just like others.

I remember when we first received Brother Lett at Bethel in Brazil, about thirty years ago... it was a privilege... at the time the brothers of the Governing Body did not have much visibility due to JW Broadcasting. I remember being impressed with his teaching art.

I hope the story of his life comes out before he receives his reward.

Thanks my brother 🙏🏾 much appreciated.

You seem knowledgeable on this subject so I must have come to the right person.

Why is the selection pool very small? Jesus Christ chose the 12 apostles and the their was others that was part of the Governing Body in the book of Acts. I just would like understand.

(Acts 15:23) 23 They wrote this and sent it through them:

The apostles and the elders, your brothers, to those brothers in Antioch, Syria, and Ci·liʹcia who are from the nations: Greetings!

I don't see having different cultures as a division. Revelation said it'll be different languages, people, Nations and tribes to me That's different cultures. And sometimes within different cultures There's different thinking and ways of looking at things. I don't see that as divisions.

(Revelation 5:9) 9 And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, for you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought people for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

To start with, we only have some 20,000 partakers who claim to be anointed to chose from (out of  9,000,000 publishers).  And a large majority of these are women who would not qualify because of gender.  We would not choose the very aged because of health.  We do want spiritually experienced brothers so the pool of anointed pioneers, COs and so forth is a relatively small group of possibilities.  Also, to mesh seamlessly with the existing GB, they would have to speak English.

A friend of me asked this question years ago when he visited headquarters. I do not know who he asked this question but the answer was: they must know how to govern.

What we see is that these brothers already serve at Bethel for years. I'm sure Jehovah already know who he needs at a certain point in time to be part of the GB. He just needs training. And when the moment is there when a new member is needed, the GB will pray about the matter and Jehovah will help them to see who has the qualifications. Jehovah directs their thoughts for the right decision.

Brother Lett was born in 1949

That would mean that he is now 75 or 76, not 78 as brother Hess mentioned above. Clarification?

I said "approximately" because I knew he was born near my birth year of 1947.  I am 77 yrs and 9 months old.  I have all of the dates somewhere but when I answered I was not researching the exact year.  I am younger than Br. Splane by 'about' 3 years and older than Br. Lett by a year or two.

New question just wanted your opinion or educated guess @jwhess. Does that mean there's a lot more women who going to be in heaven than men? Maybe something like a 8 to 10 ratio or more? I have always wondered about these questions. I'm happy this Forum gave me a place to ask.

Eric

Since you asked and since you mentioned it is just my opinion I will tell you.  In the congregations that I have been associated with over the last 70+ years, I have noticed that many more anointed ones partaking are women.  As a wild guess, my observations would be 3 to 2 or more (half-again more women).

Over the last 2000 years it is hard to say but in general the 'women are a large army' in God's service and there is no reason to believe anointed publishers are different.

So, yes, I assume more Kings and Priests in heaven used to be women on earth.

I understand you mean the scriptures says Jehovah gave some to govern, abilities to direct, administration or Managers some translations say.

This makes more sense to me now that Jehovah has a few governing the many and that's in the scriptures.

Thanks much appreciated 🙏🏾. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was wondering about this.

(1 Corinthians 12:28) 28 And God has assigned the respective ones in the congregation: first, apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers; then powerful works; then gifts of healings; helpful services; abilities to direct; different tongues.

I was also thinking of that saying that men conquer Nations and women's civilized Nations. After Armageddon there will never be a need to conquer planet Earth again, but planet Earth definitely need to be civilized during that thousand years so it makes sense to have more women civilizing planet Earth and not worried about conquering planet Earth.
