report seems to say that the truth is now in top 10 of  christian religions

https://www.worldatlas.com/religion/largest-christian-denominations-in-the-world.html

This list puts us in 8th, behind the Mormons (World-wide figures).

They take 4th spot in the US. Interesting! 🧐

Organizations may significantly inflate their membership numbers for institutional reasons—for example, Seventh-day Adventists and Mormons. There are reports that Brazilian Adventists falsify baptisms because local pastors have baptism targets and receive financial benefits from the general conference. In the case of the Mormons, out of the roughly 18 million reported members, how many are alive and how many are deceased? This is because they practice baptizing deceased relatives of those who join their faith, which inflates the numbers.

Brazil’s 2022 Census confirms this disparity here, showing figures that differ considerably from those officially reported by them, especially for Mormons and Adventists. In that Census, Jehovah’s Witnesses are approaching about 2 million members, whereas on the JW website the number is still not even 1 million.

In the last 2010 Census, Jehovah’s Witnesses in Brazil numbered 1.3 million people who identified themselves as belonging to Jehovah’s people.

They are part of the 20+ million at the Memorial each year.  Maybe candidates for the call after BTG is destroyed?

Just to clarify: the most recent Brazilian population census was conducted in 2022, and before that we only had the 2010 census as a reference.

I agree. One of the problems with these lists, as they themselves explain, is that they group by movement rather than by denomination. In addition, the numbers of some of these religions are surrounded by controversy.

For example, the city I live in is an important urban center in the interior, with quite a bit of diversity. A keen observer will notice:

- Protestantism: led by the Assembly of God denomination, with the largest number of members and temples. Several other denominations make up the numbers.

- Adventists: strangely seem to have many (3 temples just in the territory of my congregation), but their presence is quite irrelevant.

- LDS: The number of members is controversial, with reports that they count baptized members even if they've been out of the church for years. They don't surpass the Jehovah's Witnesses in numbers here in the city.

US Dept of the Census does not survey for religion.  Having worked for that entity, I noticed that the methods and the math was very skewed. Also the people that respond are differing. Homosexual persons were likely to respond in order to get counted, even if the survey/subject had nothing to do with the demographic they wanted to respond to. Our brothers keep accurate tallies.

We are not in membership competition with Satan's 'paramours' (I haven't used that word in years).  It is just nice that someone noticed us.  We are not just that little church at the edge of your town...😁

Remind yourself that our 9 millions are religious equivalent to their "catechists" (religious teachers), so our real number should be the 21 000 000 of the Memorial.

Also, we are top 1 in teachers :), the catholic clergy has less than 1 000 000 people (and I'm counting the nuns), with their lay-catechist, it's not even 5 millions.
