Hegseth to lead Pentagon’s controversial Office of Religious Affairs

Recommended Posts

It's interesting that the government is apparently trying to strengthen the connection with religion while we have been looking for just the opposite. Huh....

We aren't looking for 'one' nation to split with God. We're waiting for all governments to do so.

While 'turning up the heat' is a time honored precursor to a messy breakup, in truth we don't need a trigger. The WT has said point blank that the 'one thought' will not have to come from any current event.

Decided my first post was too close to being political.

In the old Mafia movies, the bad guy would pretend to be his enemies friend so he could get close enough to...you know...

Hegseth wrote a book about how the path to restoring American greatness is "faith-based warrior ethos" leading to a "new American Crusade." So he needs a more direct injection of "Christian principles" to achieve this Crusade.

I'm not sure if he thinks manifest destiny was an American Crusade or not. It's basically colonialism wearing a Scooby Doo monster mask.

Shakespeare himself could not have come up with a more ridiculous cast of characters than what we currently see on the world stage.
The whole world is a farce.

Life is full of irony. I expect a right wing (formerly) ultra religious (even if it's lip service) politician to be in charge when the attack on BTG begins

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

It really makes me appreciate the new understanding of how Jehovah will initiate world events. If we saw a ultra religious politician in office, we might think Jehovahs Day was delayed and be discouraged, but now we understand that it doesn't matter...

When you look at how ancient civilisations worked, you can see how closely entrenched religion has always been with politics of their time, and mostly, it was a fundamental part of politics.

In ancient Egypt, the priests were closely aligned with the Pharoah, and at times, more influential than the Pharoah himself. The priests were supplied with all their needs directly by the Pharoah's treasury. And no different with other civilisations over the millenia.

However, when religion gains too much control over the peoples, then the peoples will rise up and put religion back out of the powerful position they had been in. And over time, religion regains power, then losses, regains, losses.

So we could be seeing the final aligning of politics and religious fervor, before their downfall for good.

Who knows exactly??

Well, we all do know when He eventually does picks his time, don't we?

Hasn’t there been more and more right wing extremism in quite a number of western countries the last few years?  There was recently news about Germany as well. Comparing them to ideology from the Nazi era. Lots of talk about “protecting culture”, kind of a white man supremacy going on.  Horrific sex scandals everywhere you turn.

It really feels like living in the twilight zone sometimes.
I also have wondered at the irony of religion seeming to be on the rise.
And it feels we have a few Nebuchadnezzar’s around too….

So true. My entire being longs for the day when we finally wake up to a morning of pure worship instead of demonic false religions, sanity instead of insanity, justice instead of corruption, peace instead of constant fighting and wars and real love instead of suspicion and prejudice. These very last days are taking a heavy toll on us. Hang on dear friends.
