EXCLUSIVE: 'I will gag the hate clerics': Cameron to launch new terror task force to bring an end to religious extremism

David Cameron is planning new powers to muzzle Islamic hate preachers accused of provoking terrorist outrages such as the killing of soldier Lee Rigby. The Prime Minister wants to stop extremist clerics using schools, colleges, prisons and mosques to spread their 'poison'. Cleric Omar Bakri (pictured right) described murder suspect Michael Adebolajo as a 'hero' for remaining at the murder scene, following Rigby's death.

I just saw this a few minutes ago. Am sure the friends in Britain have already heard of this plan.  Am sure it will go over easy, since people are fed up with these clerics who preach hatred and death to anyone not agreeing with them.   All I know is, its heading towards the Great Tribulation and then Armagadden!

It is interesting how quickly things can change. Then just label all religion as "extreme " and its all done, but the crying.

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

Soon .....

Isn't it interesting how much traction the 'free-speech' movement got when it first became the popular catch-cry about 15-20 years ago.

I remember thinking at the time that this is going to lead to something bad sooner or later especially with those expressing extreme views.

But as so often happens, when those fears are finally realized the swinging pendulum effect kicks in and suddenly the public are more than ready to support the knee-jerk reaction that follows.

And again, where this will likely lead seems pretty obvious. Anyone who speaks out publicly about anything they have strong views on will all be tarred with the same brush and potentially silenced.

Thank you all for your thoughts on this.   We have a Special Pioneer sister who lives in our kingdom hall apartment.  She served in Russia/St. Petersburg right after the fall of communism.  She was there from 1992 till 2002, then she came back to the States, and was assigned in a Russian speaking congregation in New York City.  After serving there, she moved down to Baltimore, MD.  She's been with us ever since.   She goes to the new Russian Congregation a few miles away from where she lives at in our hall.   She said after the fall of communism that year people were flocking into the truth, by the time 9/11 rolled around, things started to change.  The extremist clerics of the Russian Orthodox church went mad with jealousy at our brothers/sisters in Russia preaching the good news. Their flocks were disappearing!     Now its 2013, 12 years later, and our litature in Russia and other bits and peices of Russia that broke off during the end of communism, aer persecuting our brothers day and night.  Our Bibles, and they hate the Teach Book with a passion, this book along with other lituature was confescated and banned.  It is now considered EXTREMIST if anyone has our lituature, in fact all our books, magazines, tracks, brochures is now considered extremism.    Kingdom halls have been attacked with no police protection.  Who's behind it all, the Orthodox Clerics and corrupt police officers and these gang of youth groups who hate religion and other races of people.   So, I do agree with Dave, up above, that soon this may turn in another direction other then Muslim Clerics who preach hatred and death in their mosques. Satan's crazies will come out and turn on their neighbors because they feel they are too extremistic.  We all are waiting to see where this all goes, when it comes to our work in the field.

The reason the Prime Minister is saying this at present was an act that shuddered the Nation. These 2 young men who seemed to have belonged variously to gangs in London/Kenya then converted to Islam and carried on their violent lives in the name of Islam here and back home in Kenya, having been seen out protesting and listening to these sect street preachers for some time by various news channels that recognised them.

They drove a vehicle into a young man they knew to be an off duty soldier near to my Uncle's home in London. Dragged the injured young man into the middle of the street in front of many people taking children home from school and going home from work, and hack him to death with knives and a meat-cleaver yelling "Allah is Great" while doing it. They stood soaked in blood yelling that it's revenge for Iraq and Afghanistan killings etc until the Police come and shot them - to injure, not kill them, so they can be subdued and stand in court. Later the same hate preachers as in the article above - call them heroes, while the public reels in horror. Then we hear of 3 attacks on soldiers stabbed by Moslems in France later that week and more plaudits from these Islamic sects of clerics.

It is understandable at present why the government reacts as it does to keep anarchy off the streets as far right groups, such as the English Defence League, threaten revenge violence on Moslem areas - the majority of whom say what was done was not in their name.

This government reaction is nothing new here. A few years ago, the same laws, already in place, were voted on at various stages of parliament and then used against Sinn Fein and other Catholic Republican Irish groups suspected of being involved in terrorist activity/bombings and they  were not allowed to speak on the media in any form and had their freedom of speech severely restricted. Ordinary Irish Catholics were not restricted. At the moment these laws will be put through Parliament and applied again against hate clerics of known sects, but ordinary Moslem Imams, not of groups watched by MI5/MI6 can still preach publically. Sinn Fein 's restrictions have been lifted since they negotiated a truce with the British government.

The British laws as they stand would have to be changed to fit us to the profile of the terrorists described by the laws above and Britain isn't a dictatorship capable of any enactment of any kind of law like the corrupt carry on in Russia as yet.

Awake 6/06 p4-6:
Violence Rooted in the Past
In first-century Judaea, a violent group called the Zealots pushed for Jewish independence from Rome. Some of their most ardent adherents became known as Sicarii, or dagger men, a name that comes from the short swords they hid under their garments. Mingling in Jerusalem’s festival crowds, the Sicarii slit the throats of their enemies or stabbed them in the back.

Awake 89 5/22 p 21: For decades groups like this, opposed to the Roman domination that had replaced Greece in 63 B.C.E., carried on terrorist activity.  Finally in 66 C.E., they broke into open rebellion. This led to the destruction of the Jewish temple and their priesthood

Some view the Zealot revolt as the start of terrorism as we know it. True or not, since then terrorism has left deep tracks in history’s path.

It's interesting that the extremist activity of the Zealots really forced the hand of the Romans who were essentially a peace-keeping force.  The propensity for the political elements turning on religion is certainly building.  It might take a while for all this build up or be very quick, but either way the end is close, so nose to the grindstone.

Thanks Lisa for that experience.  That is such a good scripture to use for service too.

(Proverbs 24:21, 22) My son, fear Jehovah and the king. With those who are for a change, do not intermeddle. 22 For their disaster will arise so suddenly, that who is aware of the extinction of those who are for a change?
