Sounds like you need to run some sort of virus or adware/mallware scanner on it. You might try SuperAntiSpyware it is a vry good one and has a free version that actually works.

appreciate your replies!

voices/ ads been going on few wks, laptop been running slow few months (slower than usual)

when I googled 'random music on my laptop', it was surprising how many discussions came up discussing this problem that others have had... most said that spyware/ malware is not catching this virus (trojan virus)... it is said to be well hidden...

did not want to trust any of their 'fixes' from just anyone... but John I will try the super spyware download you listed for me, and will get you the results for your feedback, yours too Chuck ~ thank you both! (tu)

also ran a performance check... 2 drivers were listed that are causing windows to run slowly... if you uninstall drivers running slow, what is your system using as a driver instead? do you install a new driver before you uninstall a slow one? or do you reinstall it??

I install critical or important updates as the alerts pop up... even 'reverted computer to a previous time' (before the voices)...

they still get in! :wall:

could you possible get me a lil more on the 'add-ons'? how do I get there?

   thank you so much! :notworthy:

malwarebyte found 5 objects infected.

what to do next?

thanks again brothers! :)

In Internet Explorer, go to the "Tools" menu, then "Internet options" Then choose the "Programs: tab and click on "Manage add-ons"

I would disable all add-ons except your search provider, which I recommend be Google. If you see "Bing" in the list, be sure to disable that, it is full of adware. Then see how the Internet Explorer runs and if it's better, you can start enabling the add-ons you want, one at a time. I don't use IE, I prefer Chrome, but in my IE, I have ALL add-ons disabled.

only have google enabled now

oops, malware scan was not complete, thought it was... objects found infected is 17

Just let the scan complete, then make sure everything it finds is checked and then "delete" it or "remove" it, whatever the option is, but get rid of it. Superanitspyware and malwarebytes are both pretty reliable, so, whichever you are using, you won't delete anything you need.

Also, look in your control panel and in "Programs and features" and see if "Start now" is in your program list, if it is, uninstall it.

Yes...it was so frustrating!!!! I didn't even identify the language correctly...I think it was pakistani or something. It was a virus. My son had to take it to the computer doctor and get it fixed. sorry......

If you continue to have problems try visiting MajorGeeks and they will help you fix/clean your computer. Look down the list and open the thread that says "READ & RUN ME FIRST" and follow the directions.

The guys at Major Geeks are reliable and do not charge for their services and the programs/software they use can be trusted.

I have had them help me clean/fix more than one computer - including the one I am writing this on and everything bad was removed and I have had no problems since.

That's weird because it goes right there for me. I have a program that I paid for, but they have a free to try and I use it all the time. It is called Advance System Care. You run the scan and can see the problems. When I took my computer into the Geek Squad they couldn't believe how clean it was of problems. I think that is the reason. The GS deleted the program. Wonder why????

You can use the free on as long as you want, but I figured it worked so good, I pay them every year for the Pro copy. Your choice.

This program will help you with the other issues too.

Type the address in your browser and see if that works. If you can't get it, PM me and I'll send you the exe to install it. You might need to send me your email address for me to send it, I'm not sure.

I need to take notes here. No problems. Now. But they are lurking, waiting for an opportune time. By the way, what is the deal with the iPad? Why doesn't it get ill, or is my time coming?

iPads as well as Android tablets, seldom get "bugs" except maybe some adware. it is the Apple computers that enjoys the  urban myth started by Apple that they don't get viruses. They do, and when they do, you end up having to find an Apple store to take it to or send it into Apple.

I guess I was of naive/ foolish thinking... really only go to jw.org, here, sites for: essential oils, pets, weather... thought viruses mainly came from 'questionable' content... websites we would never use or view  (td)

so never did setup much protection from viruses...
