  1. Carlos, here is the link for the videos in Spanish. The first one in each group is the one referred to in the Workbook: https://www.jw.org/download/?pub=mwbv&issue=201712&langwritten=S
  2. Regards from Venezuela

Dear Bro. Antonio, how are these two dear sisters now?
  3. Yesterday was the first day of autumn here - after an incredibly hot and dry summer. Perceived temperatures in the 50's (centigrade)!!! Global warming. Hope you enjoy your summer.
  4. "Despite the colossal pressure" our fine young 16-yr-old brother remained loyal. What an example of faith! May Jehovah continue to support and richly bless him and all our dear brothers and sisters in Russia!
  5. My heart aches for our precious Venezuelan brothers and sisters. At the same time, how encouraging to read of their wonderful spirit! “Spiritually, we have never been so prosperous. Our congregation meeting attendance has increased. More publishers are regular pioneering while at the same time exercising greater caution in the ministry. Since our neighbors know that we are strictly neutral and that we do not share in any of the criminal activity plaguing the country, they welcome the Bible-based message of hope and comfort we share.” Does anyone know what has happened to the 680 brothers and sisters who've been kidnapped?
  6. Hello Sally! I'm from Melbourne - Heidelberg congregation. But I live in Italy now - in the centre of the island of Sardinia.
  7. Thank you, Bro. Manfred. I always like to check the accuracy of anything I share but in this case I wasn't sure how to go about it. I checked the theme of the convention and verified that it was, indeed, "Don't Give Up!" in Russian, so I thought I could risk sharing. I must admit, I did think that the number getting baptized was rather excessive for an attendance of 4,500!
  8. This morning I received the following WhatsApp message from my former circuit overseer: "This past weekend, the Finland Bethel organized a Zone Convention in Helsinki for our dear Russian brothers. The Finnish brothers opened their homes to the Russian brothers whom they didn't know personally, providing 4,500 delegates with accomodation, food and transport to the Convention for all three days. Despite the fact that most Finns don't speak a word of Russian, love helped to overcome the linguistic barriers (John 13:35). Brother Mark Sanderson, of the Governing Body, was amongst those present, having come specifically to strengthen our persecuted brothers." He also sent me a video of the baptismal candidates at this convention: https://www.dropbox.com/s/i6cr4a3e3k1bynj/VID-20170626-WA0002.mp4?dl=0
  9. Maybe this is the explanation: "The Noviks' path to the Family Glory award was a long one. First, they were approved by the municipal authorities in Petrozavodsk. Then they were nominated by the regional government of Karelia -- in 2015. After that, nothing but silence until they were informed in April -- the same month as the Supreme Court decision -- that they had been selected." https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-jehovah-s-witness-family-award-extremist-putin/28546976.html
  10. My computer won't play the live video but it's playing on my tablet. How lovely to "be" with our dear brothers and sisters inside the Supreme Court as they wait for the decision!
  11. Sorry about the double post! Had some technical issues and a message that said to remove the formatting.
  12. I don't know anything - just trying to understand. https://www.jw.org/en/news/legal/by-region/russia/liquidate-legal-entities-20160413/ This article explains that the Witnesses are being targeted in several regions in Russia. The case to liquidate the LRO (Local Religious Organization) in Tyumen was scheduled to be considered by The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation on April 14th. LRO liquidations in other regions are also pending with the Supreme Court. The impression I got from Victoria's post was that the Court basically said, 'There's no need to rule on these cases one by one. Their national headquarters will soon be liquidated and that will get all the LRO's in one go!' I certainly hope I'm wrong and that the Supreme Court does, indeed, decide in our favor!
