  1. That’s most of modern media these days. It’s why I don’t claim them as facts. Just what is being reported. We can trust the FDS but there’s no other organization I would take at face value.
  2. I was trying not to assume facts not in evidence. She was there, she performed some horrid actions. But, from all accounts he was a pretty ruthless man and from what I’ve read [mostly conjecture] she could have been coerced or likely suffered from battered wife syndrome. My comment you quoted was just my own postulations leaking through.
  3. Their home was full of bomb making materials and instructions as to the distribution of their property was left behind. Wether she was a wiling participant or not I’m fairly certain she felt she wasn’t going home again.
  4. The NY Post is reporting he was “booted” from the congregation for making bomb threats against the KH several years ago. Also, I’m curious as to why reporting has now started using his wife’s maiden? name.
  5. Without knowing his identity we cannot know for certain. He did not act as a loyal servant of Jehovah for sure. But as history has shown us baptized meeting attending “Brothers” are very capable of shirking Jehovahs standards and committing atrocities. The article from a worldly publication simply infers he at one time was attending meetings. The world has a much lower bar than Jehovah. Edit: The Sherrelwood Congregation has not yet confirmed or denied the status of either the person.
  6. This is an answer I haven’t found yet. My brain has been jumping to conclusions all day. I am hoping that she had chosen to return to Jehovah, or at least seek the council of the BOE.
  7. You’re not wrong. Even though it’s not too easy to obtain a firearm here they are common and you will see people in general carrying firearms in public. But even so where I live it doesn’t cause an unsafe feeling. It’s as much about the closeness and overall values of a community that make it feel safe or unsafe when you see someone carrying.
  8. i agree with John on this one. Many Brothers and Sisters own firearms. Which could be a foreign concept in some countries. We all have different cultures and experiences. That makes us unique. But we are united under our love of Jehovah. Living here in Colorado it quite common to own a firearm for hunting, protection against wild animals, sport shooting. In my local congregation I’d guesstimate 75% of households have at least one in their home. But, knowing Jehovahs standards none of those would ever consider using it to take a human life.
  9. It’s been a rough week for the brothers in Colorado. A lot of sad and angering news the past week. Some are reporting this as a murder/suicide involving inactive ones.
  10. I cannot confirm this story. But can confirm that Sysco donated several pallets of fresh food to our congregation to be distributed at no cost to the Brothers and Sisters.
  11. It seems as though 81% of people who are infected with COVID-19 only experience mild symptoms. Which is a great things. But we don't want to be in the 4% who have serious symptoms. So remember to be careful and take proper precautions.
  12. I nominate @Tortuga as reader for this new auditory delight.
  13. While this is indeed very wise. We do not want to offend or cause divisions within the congregation. A better reason might be love. We do not want to present something that would cause an internal conflict between them and their conscience.
  14. I do like Metallica. I know they are a pretty popular among the Brothers I know. But to be specific I like thrash metal. And I will concede that a lot of metal has inappropriate themes, language, album covers. I think that is where a lot of people might get confused. Like any other form of entertainment, this is where a well trained conscience and discernment come in.
  15. I have always felt connected to the metal genre. I got into metal in the 80’s. Starting with my parents old vinyl NWOBHM albums. It has a very calming effect on me. And can tune out the negativity of the world. Also, a cool music site for y’all. https://musicmap.info/
  16. Hiking is a popular activity around here. For those who are physically able it makes for a great group activity and is a great source of staying physically fit.
  17. Looks great. Hopefully you managed to bring home some dinner.
  18. I have a small 14’ Sea Nymph. It’s a great fishing boat. Nice and quiet and not enough room fo the wives.
  19. The official report simply refers to it as a juvenile. No size given. But was accompanied by this image.
  20. I don’t think he set out that day to attack a cat. But upon stumbling upon a baby lion he decided to harass it and got the pointy end of the stick.
  21. This story has been dominating the airwaves lately. After hearing all sides I think there is more to this tail. From listening to his girlfriend speak I have a suspicion he went looking for this kitty. I wouldn’t. But then fame isn’t worth loosing an arm in my opinion.
