  1. Jerry puts his salad in that bowl. Then he eats the salad and whoosh, no more bowl either.
  2. I love how SpongeBob and Patrick look like they're out in service in this picture.
  3. Good ol' Hell, MI! What a place. That was a quite a story we had going, written one sentence at a time over in the games forum.
  4. I'm picturing a piece of bacon with paint slathered on one end...
  5. In the U.S., (at least outside of Brooklyn) many Bethelites drive up to an hour to their assigned congregations. Within an hour of Warwick is much of the populated area of suburban New York City. So they will probably be assigned to those congregations much as the Wallkill and Patterson Bethelites already are.
  6. Jerry, I think Zoey is using your account again!
  7. Another very sad case. Thankfully we know that things like this are always dealt with judicially in our organization - other churches take no action against average members. Since false charges do happen through the scheming of adults, it is for our protection that the Bible stipulates that a confession or a second witness is required for someone to be disfellowshipped, no matter the offense. (A victim is of course a witness to the offense.) A second witness of the same kind of sin but a different specific incident is sufficient for judicial action and has been that way pretty much always. (Say two different people witness a brother smoking on separate occasions, or he fornicated with two different people at different times - you get the idea - obviously that is basis for action. People do not really commit any sin in front of a crowd.) As we see here, molesters often have victimized several persons anyway before it comes to light. Additionally, evidence found during a trial by the superior authorities can also be a second witness. Even if there is only one witness, the elders watch closely, never taking even one accusation lightly. And the parents are always free to report to police no matter what, and elders do so as required by law.
  8. Don't these custom bookbinders just remove the old cover anyway? Maybe I missed something. At any rate, I am curious to see what happens at the annual meeting. If something is released then, everyone finds out at the same time, whereas with the conventions, they are spread over months and so the potential for spoilers.
  9. Mentally deceased is so gonna be my new term for those guys...
  10. The "Obama is a Muslim" crowd must love this one...
  11. "Outside the family, however, no one is authorized to ban specific films, songs, or artists as being unacceptable for members of the congregation.—Galatians 6:5." I like this quote. Every now and then you see or hear someone do this, so it is good to see such behavior disapproved.
  12. It varies a lot. Sometimes it is prior to the one of the midweek meetings.
  13. Jerry: Was that computer on JW Talk? Does he post here!? That would explain why trottigy is such a canivore.
  14. Did Ampu Tate cut himself off from the congregation because of the influence of Apos Tate?
  15. Yes to school vacation! I think I will support my child in auxiliary pioneering if they can. new: Things you should say to ----- Gabe: In American English, 'holiday' only refers to celebrations like Christmas, Easter, etc., so amongst American Witnesses, holidays are considered universally bad. I almost posted in reference to that, until I remembered that British and Australians use 'holiday' to refer to 'vacation.' Not always the same language I guess!
  16. You said some of that last year? new: Things you shouldn't say to
  17. You are grounded for life! You won't even see your friends at the meetings! new: Things you shouldn't say to
  18. Yeah, I've helped on some projects from time to time. I cannot do that many, but it is a privilege and fun when I can. That's interesting. Where in Africa are you from?
  19. If someone tells you to feed your dog Zoey they better check on him afterwards...just in case...
  20. Svetlana, those are so interesting! I definitely look forward to hearing more on this thread from around the world.
