We are having a flood

Grumpy just called me to say that he almost couldn't get home from the store because of the flooded roads. We have to cross a bridge to get to our road and the water is fast approaching the underside of the bridge. I am at work and the girls apartment is about 3 inches from having water in the livingroom. If it keeps up I won't be able to go home and Grumpy will be stuck home.

 

We have our DC this coming week and the forecast is rain, rain, and more rain. Yikes! Hope we can get out.

 

Grumpy said the pond has reached into his cukes, squash, tomatoes, corn,green beans, and now asparagus. The corn is laying down and the pool is next. What a mess.

It has been soooooooooo hot and humid here and now this. I just hope I get to the convention.

It's been disappointingly cool this summer. We were gonna get  a pool, and decided to wait till next year. By the time we get it all set up, it will be time to cover it for the winter.

Our pool is empty this year. We need to get a new liner and redo the underneath because we had a family of Armadillo's decide to live under it.

I asked brother driving truck thru rain in Ga. to bring us a semi-load. We have 2" cracks. Grass fires everyday. Did you hear Santa Rosa N.M. had about 2 ft. hail yesterday; looks like snow; in July.

Weird weather for everywhere but here. Here its just plain hot. Vernalee hope the rain lets up for the DC or it might be another canadian move the dc situation. Hope some of the veggies make it out ok too

I'm so sorry Vernalee..I understand there will be a convention in West Palm Beach the 19th...we used to go there when we could attend..great air quality for our sensitivities...hope the weather cooperates for you though..

 Vernalee you are now getting the rains we had these past 5 days... and a local armadillo family has found easy digging with the rain-softened ground, they knock over my pots and bend the fencing and dig up my plants     

 

afraid they will scare or get into a fight with my little dog, not sure who would win that one  

getting them to relocate is Tough!

We're in the midst of a drought right now.  Last summer and the summer before was the same.  We have lost most of the grass in the front, and we're slowing but surely losing shrubs, even though I try to keep them watered.  Hopeless!

Too bad we can't make a little swap. But to be honest, we have had such dry weather in the last couple of years, that the pond went totally dry. Now it's full, maybe over full. I really enjoy having the pond to watch all the wildlife that come there. We had some wild ducks this year. And of course our Alligator.

I hope you are staying safe and your DC goes on uninterrupted. We had widespread flooding here a week ago. Several of the friends lost their homes.

The DC will be fine, my problem will be if we can get out to the highway. I'm pretty sure it will be OK.
