Questions for Sisters

WOW!  Your poetry sounds  like a commercial/endorsement for rehab! :uhhuh:   I have worked rehab for many years and this seemed to be what the patients thought--in the beginning.  It took many years and heartbreaks for patients and families to come to the realization that it only worked for a little while.  My husband went from being an alcoholic to a drug dependent person.  He can not function without his MS.  He realizes what it does to him, but at this point he is unable to quit.  He has had a knee replacement, and it will be awhile due to insurance and circumstances before he can have the other replaced, along with a shoulder replacement and back surgery.  I realize he needs (?) the pills to be able to even get out of bed or function (because he does not know what Jehovah can do) and I have accepted that this will probably be the situation until the GT breaks out and he can not get his medications, or he dies from the sheer amount that he deems "reasonable" to get by.  I can not even phantom what it is like to live with that much pain, nor do I want to.  But I just know it will be hell on him and all around him (namely me) if he even falls a few hours short of taking his medications.  For anyone who knows about Morphine he takes 200mgm twice a day and 30mgms a day. Does he even care what this is doing to his organs?  He may, but he is too addicted at this point to be able to make an effort to change.  How sad.

What every your situation is that you have to take pain medications in order to get by or just have a little relief,  I am so sorry. I know others in the Jehovah's house are going through the same thing. I look forward to the time you too will be able to climb the mountains and run like a "kid".

I tell my husband these things and he looks at me and says "you don't know how much I wish I could believe that"  yet he makes no effort to study--but he does listen, for short times, I can not go "on and on" to long   or I see his eyes glaze over (maybe its Satan's Morphine kicking in).

Anyway, I am ever so grateful   for what ever time he allows me to speak of Jehovah's goodness and generosity.

It must be trialsome for you...

Sometimes I get to thinking that my situation is not terribly bright. But I can do something about it, I guess, and I certainly try to.

Amazingly, two people came up to me at the meeting the other day, that is Sunday, "We went to your place yesterday to visit but you weren't home," they each told me.

Now here's the thing I can't fathom. They surely know that I work all weekend, that I am almost always missing from the Sunday meeting because I'm away from home working (and I attend meetings in the areas where I'm working, of course). And then, from time to time, I ask why people don't drop in to see me as they go past during the week.

"But we don't know if you're home..." I'm almost always at home during the week! If I'm not out in field service I'm at home. One 3-hour trip to the shops one day is possible, but otherwise I'm home all the week!

 Here is another one

                                   Subconscious World

I live in a subconscious world

The planet I live on doesn't swirl

 Black, yellow and blue

If you mix them together you have no clue

There are a lot of noises in downtown

Turn up the volume and hear the sound

I walk in the way that I don't know

I love it and I can't let it go

We all live in a subconscious world

Dive into it and let it be your little pearl

I just took a pain pill and  I got a crazy one

                          Psychedelic World

Pink elephants dancing in the street

They are swinging to the beat

Pretty black flowers are singing to you

Before you know it, they are through

 Yellow air fills your mouth

 Watch the pigs flying south

A deer is hunting for red meat

It is you she want to meet

She is married to a blue cherry pie

Don't let his mother be your guide

Black cats and brown dogs together falling in love

We don't know what they are thinking of

  You are raking green snow

You are seeing music, let it flow

It is raining down to the sky

If you get wet, I wonder why

   People floating in the air

They don't need to drive or pay a fare

   Purple ocean reach the shore

Nobody pushing your door bells, so open the door

                                 Women

 They are sweet

They are people whom you have to meet

They can laugh for a while

And that is what makes them smile

 They are wearing sun glass

And that what make them having class

 They are tall

I hope they don't stumble because that what make them fall

 They have ears

So they can hear their fears

 They have a mind

With a high IQ and that is fine

 They have a heart

 That beats of the chart

 They are short

At times they are building a fort

 They have feelings

While expressing this, they give us many things

 They came from Jehovah

He is the God of love

 They are Women

I said it again and again

Any poems from NZ? Or the Tasmanian devils eat them all?

There have never been any Tasmanian Devils in New Zealand, Glenn...

They are native to Tasmania, which is almost a thousand miles across the sea. It's also a couple of hundred miles from the mainland of Australia, but it is a state of Australia.

I have some Australian poetry here if you're interested...

    A Computer With Feelings

  I dwell in many buildings

Yes, I'm a computer that has feelings

I'm full of wires like rest of them

   I was made at IBM

I am program what to do

   Yet, I still love you

   At times, they repair me

   Yet, I can see

At times they push a button so I can start

   Yet, I have a heart

At times, I don't cost that much

Yet, I can feel your touch

At times, I am for sale

   Yet, I can smell

At full capacity, I make a buzzing noise

   Yet, I have a voice

Before you know it, I will be out of date

But, don't be surprise if I have a mate

Sometimes I live beyond my life span

Why? Because I was made in Japan

I like to make poems when i still have tablet/gadget. When I read through JW Library, its english, and I find some important things so hard to remember. Or If I will answer it to the meetings, how can I explain myself? So I write it also in ENGLISH poems. Some I do was daily text, important bible verses, draw close and watchtower. That is when I obligate myself to participate at meetings because I am studying. Actually this is my secret. As of now, I stopped, and I realize its not important, what important is your success. :-)

All glory and praises goes to Jehovah :)

That's good if it works for you Alexa, keep it up!

Here's a verse (or stanza?) from a poem I like:

The night ants clambered up cliffs of bark,

they sensed death high in the swaying dark.

Some strange sixth sense or elusive scent

sent the scurrying scouts up the long ascent.

With waving antennae and dropping tail,

they blazed a formalin-pungent trail,

a blind scent road for the worker horde

to exploit the spoil where the scouts explored.

They hurried aloft in a thickening chain,

an eager, excited, pillaging train,

with mandibles ready to wrench and tear

flenched morsels of flesh and clotted hair.

Automatons grim, in armour plated,

whose communal hunger is never sated -

for all is grist to that scavenging horde -

with every fragment preserved and stored

in dry earth cavern or rock-hewn bin,

all carefully pickled in formalin.

Where even dead sisters are carted home,

to dim dark cellar or catacomb,

dismembered and carefully stashed away,

imperious Caesars turned to clay.

Wonderful imagery there, the use of alliteration, it all rhymes (yes Luezette, I like them to rhyme, rhyming makes poetry), it discloses things we should think about, opens the mind. And it's just a small part of one of author's great poems.

Just in case you liked that, here's the preceding verse...

Down in the gullies an alien fox

sought alien cronies under the rocks.

Till he heard the short, sharp querulous bark

as a vixen tongued in the outer dark,

where the hillside tumbled in shelving slate,

the cry for an urgently-wanted mate.

That sinister shadow, the hunting owl,

drifts eerily past on his nightly prowl.

For life nocturnal is vivid and raw,

an endless battle of talon and claw;

The night is a clamour of ceaseless strife,

where kill or be killed is the way of life.

Here is a bizzare one

          I'm a Subatomic Particle

I can be in multiple places at the same time

Being at 2, well that is fine

There are 6 types of me

I need no more, so let it be

 Leptons, electron, and neutrino

It doesn't stop here, I have 3 to go

 Muon neutrino, tau, tau neutrino

That is not all of me, say it isn't so

I have 6 flavors of Quarks and  that is bottom, down, and up

Bring out the tea and have a cup

The last 3 flavors are, top, strange and charm

You see, I'm not that complicated and I did no mental harm :wall::bringiton::loopy:

That's awesome! :bouncing:

Since women like poetry, I'll sing it to Debbie tonight.

How'd it go?

"It's a known fact that eighty decibels of rushing water is one of the most pleasing sounds known to mankind. On other hand, ten and a half days at sea is enough water for anybody."

She really liked this part:

Every woman can clean the dishes

And she has many wishes

Every woman can mop the floor

She does it like a chore

Every woman can clean every room

She is using the broom

Every woman can shop for food

She is in a good mood

Every woman can dust

It is a must

Every woman can enjoy life

She does it as a mother or a wife

:lol1:

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

Soon .....
