Made a Move or Two

Today i went to an eye doctor. I got registered and took a seat. Across the room I saw a black guy sitting by himself. And more was coming in and they were all white. They decided to sit with all white people and I notice it. So I purposely got up and sit over with black  guy was sitting and start talking to him, then I got call in. He was a very nice guy too.

This happened a while ago, my sister and I went to a lunch room with our mother in the hospital. There was bunch of white people eating to together, and there was a black old man sitting by himself.  My sister and I went over and start talking to him and he love it. Now, I visit him while in field service.

Subconsciously we might do this at times. We might walk in a lunch room or any where. Then we sit down with people with our own color. Take a look around if you see any body with a different race and sit over there. Who knows, this might open the door for witnessing. Yes, your Christ like conduct will stand out. :D

Our area and congregation has a mix of people from all backgrounds. There is Caucasian (American and European), Black, Filipino, Latino, Korean and many more. It isn't unusual to see people of different colors to be sitting and visiting with each other in our area.

Our Vietnamese RC is in the Fremont, CA assembly hall - right near you I think. It is August 14-16. So add Vietnamese to your list  :)

We are a small coastal community that I'm happy to say have more black people moving in. I met a beautiful black woman in service not long ago and had the BEST conversation. Actually the car group got the rest of the street done while we talked. She said how much she enjoyed it as did I. LOVE diversity!

For us 'down under' it's not commonplace to have so many coloured people, especially in city congregations...

In ours, however, we have great diversity among the caucasians, we have Macedonians, Italians, Germans, a Spaniard and other European background people as well as our Anglo-Saxon-based Aussies. Oh, yeah, some genuine Poms, a Kiwi and a Canadian.

During our trip to the US in 2012 it was a treat for my wife and myself to be mixing it with so many Negro and Hispanic people. We went to one congregation (Kessler Road, Indianapolis IIRC) where there was just one white person, a young girl with red hair, the meeting was very animated. And then on my last trip I enjoyed experiencing the Spanish-speaking mixture at the meeting at Dickinson ND.

As for Australian Aboriginals, where there are sufficient of them they have separate groups or congregations even though they speak English almost exclusively. This has been found advantageous due to their different approach to many things... Tower of Babel stuff if you know what I mean.

It certainly is a mixed world and mixing it with others colours our own lives...
