When Mother and Father (not a JW) went to the Mediterranean Island of Malta, Mother went on the ministry with the congregation in some of the evenings. Maltese people dress in their best clothes and walk up and down at Sleima Promenade in family groups socialising in the cool evening, so it is a great time to 'street witness'. The other Ministry arrangements were early in the morning. After 10 am until 5pm it's just too hot - up to 115 degrees and the locals are big believers in siesta in the afternoons - good idea.

We English were not used to heat over high 70's. 50 of us had to wait for a coach in beautiful Verona, Italy in 110 degrees. None of us was at the bus stop, we left a sign saying "We are all in the town fountain, look left!" We were all stood in the cool water with the fountain cascading on us and we just didn't care about being wet!

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

When it's over 100 I like to take my grand daughter to the mall play area for kids and I read her the bible story book out loud and ask her questions, this gets other kids and their parents involved. I have even been asked if they could have a book like mine. I enjoy the cool and my grand daughter enjoys the other kids.

What a great idea, like street witnessing indoors. :sunshine:

I've just read that about 300 sq. miles of Arizona are affected by these fires. The scale of this is hard to imagine. Are you anywhere near them Dawnmarie?

Thanks for asking josie, i am not near these fires i only see it on the news.

it is sad though .....The thought of the wildlife running for their lives and bears getting up in trees and then burning is unthinkable, .....this too will come to an end in the new world as psalms 145:16 says: that Jehovah will open his hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. which includes plants and animals-- what a lovely thought!!--:boating: Let God's Kingdom Come!!

We just had a ton of wildfires in TX, burned I think 3 million acres. It is so sad.
