That's an interesting article. I think this thread gives more information about it.

Yes, I missed the other coverage. The threads should probably be merged. I still wish my relatives wold read either/or.

There were two threads going at the same time and it looks like it is information from the March 22 1987 Awake

They are just crying in their beer.

The article is poorly written, and I didn't see the original source.

It is just an ad page designed to get someone to click on an ad banner.

"Is that for real? There's a lot of mistakes in that article. Some of it doesn't make sense."  boodles

You are right Catholics don't make any sense, not at as a biblical source.

Interesting, but I scrolled to the bottom an started to see other negative JW articles. Take caution

I know what you mean. I noticed the same thing when I first set out to establish the accuracy of this story. That was before I found the Awake article with the story. It looks to me like this Awake article has been copied, pasted, translated, forwarded, retranslated, and posted several times in several different languages and places since it first appeared in 1987. And then, translated back into English! What do you expect if it's got mistakes in it?

The original article was good, reliable, and accurate when it was first published. However, the copies could have wound up on many different apostate sites too. No wonder you see references to negative/apostate sites. It doesn't change the accuracy of the original article though.

The  Catholic Say news article has a 2015 date. My relatives are more likely to notice this than to read a 1987 Awake. If I am somehow double threading, I didn't realize it, and apologize.

It's real though, despite what you saw. As Richard mentions above, it was in the March 22, 1987, Awake, pages 5 & 6.

Thanks for showing (again, now that I've seen the other threads) that it's from the Awake. So the article in the Catholic Say besides being badly translated is also plagiarized.

Not so fast, now. I think this is a real concern for the Catholic Church.

Can you imagine how many more Catholics have left that church in 31 years to serve Jehovah? Might they feel the loss of thousands of parishioners every year .

Same article about an old problem that continues to grow. I love it!

Never know, another reprint means another chance for them to read it from a source not JW. With this hitting social media again there can be more talk about it....

As long as there's life, there is hope.
