Upper House Speaker Valentina Matviyenko has urged Russians to set up a separate ministry that would evaluate any government initiative by the amount of happiness it brings to the general public.

They really do have such in some little country that snuggles up to India and China.  Bhutan, I think. It has gotten all sorts of publicity this week because too young British royals visited their little kingdom.

I cannot fathom what the Russians might come up with. Something really nationalistic, I suspect.

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!

Found this article on how the Danes find happiness.  They topped the list for happiest nation, according to the World Happiness Report.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-05-07/living-danishly-six-hacks-for-a-happier-life/7379056

These are the top 6 things that make the Danish people happy:

  1. Trust thy neighbour

  2. Don't complain about taxes

  3. Get hygge (see article for explanation, but basically means enjoying good association with family/friends)

  4. Make home beautiful (appreciating beautiful things such as art or good design makes us happy)

  5. Find work-life balance

  6. Embrace law and order

Compare that to what Jehovah says will make us happy:

  1. For the law code, “You must not commit adultery, you must not murder, you must not steal, you must not covet,” and whatever other commandment there is, is summed up in this saying: “You must love your neighbor as yourself.”   Love does not work evil to one’s neighbor; therefore, love is the law’s fulfillment. - Rom 13:9, 10
  2. Jesus then said: “Pay back Caesar’s things to Caesar, but God’s things to God.” - Mark 12:7
  3. This is what I have seen to be good and proper: that one should eat and drink and find enjoyment for all the hard work at which he toils under the sun during the few days of life that the true God has given him, for that is his reward. - Ecc 5:18
  4. When you eat and are satisfied and you build fine houses and dwell in them - Deut 8:12
  5. Six days work may be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convention. You may not do any sort of work. It is to be a sabbath to Jehovah wherever you dwell - Lev 23:3
  6. Let every person be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God - Rom 13:1  But let all things take place decently and by arrangement 1 Cor 14:40.
