Going to see Tommy Emmanuel live next month

I discovered this artist several months ago and thought I would share his music with y'all. He's definitely one of the best guitarists alive today and I'm looking forward to seeing him in concert.

His technique is quite interesting. He plays with a thumb pick and usually plays his thumb independently of the other fingers. He also bangs his hand against his guitar for percussive sounds. He plays bass, rhythm and melody simultaneously so it sounds like there's three people playing at once. A technique he learned from Chet Atkins as a child.

 

 

I'm trying to learn his technique and apply it to jazz playing, but still have a lot of work ahead of me...

Brother Josh, have you know Sungha Jung? I follow its guitar videos before I joined in this forum... I came to realize he love Tommy Emmanuel and pursued the same way in his guitar in his young age
