When we are persecuted or our brothers are mistreated, it becomes difficult to remember our commission is one of peace.  It is peace in thought, word and deed.  It is a command of Jehovah.

 

Now we know how Jonah felt.  Aren’t they bad people and haven’t they demonstrated evil intent?  Why can’t we call for condemnation and annihilation of our opposers?  Because our God said we should treat them lovingly and pray for them.

 

(Titus 3:2) 2 to speak injuriously of no one, not to be quarrelsome, but to be reasonable, displaying all mildness toward all men.

 

(1 Peter 4:4) . . .so they speak abusively of you.

 

(Romans 12:19) 19 Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath. . .
