Christian jukebox (good clean music to listen to)

I want you - Common

(Please excuse the part where he says “Hope the stars and the gods align me and you.” I was reluctant to post this song because of that but really wanted to post some clean rap, which is hard to find.)

It's hard to believe he wrote this when he was just 17 years old, with only three chords (that's all he knew) on a guitar.

"The future's uncertain and the end is always near" --- Jim Morrison

"The more I know, the less I understand. All the things I thought I knew, I'm learning again" --- Don Henley

What a great song writer. I like it when artist start off good song writers instead of being mediocre and getting better with time. Now that I know he was 17 when he wrote this, it makes the line “I wasted all those years” funny

I take back what I said. I read that the song was about the pain he went through from not having a mother in his life. It’s not funny anymore...

Did you notice, John Coltrane was also in the band with Miles Davis. I guess it couldn’t last... Hard to have two superstars sharing the same space for long.

Theres an excellent documentary about Coltrane on Netflix. It seems he was a very nice person as well. Imagine all the super bands we’ll have in the NW.

I’m not keen on rap. To me at least, It seems to be in the category of poetry. I guess poetry and music do overlap. I’m sure if I was born later I would relate to it more.

Rap is actually my favorite type of music. I listened to it a lot when I was in the world. You’re right. Rap stands for rhythm and poetry. I didn’t listen to a lot of radio or commercialized rap but listened to “conscious rap”. I would like to listen to it now but my conscience won’t allow me to since its virtually impossible to find clean rap.
