Soapbox Car Racing

So, I recently developed a new love. Soapbox car racing! I've been watching a couple of the RedBull championships from this year and loving them. I'm not really into sports or racing in general, but what I love about soapbox races is the randomness, the crazy and quirky designs of the cars (ranging from movie characters and the just out right weird, such as giant food products or every day objects) the funny acts, costumes, sense of craftsmanship and the complete fact that it's so unpredictable, the only control drivers have is brakes and steering going down steep hills.

 

It's essentially Wacky Races in real life.

 

If I were to ever partake, I'd love to either dress as Willy Wonka, and drive his foam car, the Mad Hatter and drive a tea table on wheels, or a giant tea cup... or.. dress as Indiana Jones and drive a car that was made to look like the Ark of the Covenant. 😄

 

Does anyone else enjoy these events?
