I Know What I "Like"

[Friends just call me Ross]

When it comes to comments on JWTalk, I know what I "Like" 

And it ain't "Chantilly lace and a pretty face". 

(apologies to the Big Bopper)

 

I like the posts of those that take a few moments to type out

 a warm welcome to the new ones who are joining our JW online family.

 

I like the posts of those who show  their appreciation for other peoples' posts.

 

I like the posts of those who share the gems they have 

discovered through hours of personal research.

 

I like the posts of our shyer members that pop out of 'lurk' mode

to bravely make a comment.

 

I like the posts of those who make the effort to share transcripts,

music, entertainment recommendations, sound Scriptural advice,

jokes and interesting pictures. 

 

I like some posts so much I give them a love. ❤️

You know the posts I'm talking about.  You read them

and they make your eyes sting and your heart swell...

sometimes with pride, sometimes with sorrow and sympathy,

sometimes with gratitude and profound appreciation.

 

I love all the humor on this message board!!! 

Jehovah is a happy God and his people are a happy people.

And some are apparently a whole lot happier than others. 

I wish I could give the posts that 'crack me up' both a 

and a .  

 

Most of all, I love the posts of those who have been walking with Jehovah

for a lot longer than I have.  The depth of their love for Jehovah and the

knowledge they have is soooooo incredible to see, and I haven't found an

emoji or an animated Gif that can accurately express how glad I am that they

are here on JWTalk, sharing their knowledge and sound Scriptural counsel with

us.   This is as close as I could come:

OK..I'll give it a go! All that you said plus interacting, (even if just reading topics) with brothers and sisters from our worldwide brotherhood who are from all circumstances in life, serving Jehovah to the best of their ability and also willing to share some of their deepest, even if personal, thoughts with ones (most of us) they never met face to face! I like that I feel safe here, and can apply Isa. 32:1,2 and seek the help of mature elders when I feel anxiety. I love the in-depth consideration of our meetings, conventions, annual meetings, Gilead graduations and other schools like SKE and Pioneer school. I love the humor!!! 😁That is something I love about you, Ross..especially your gifs and smileys! I love how ones here have helped me learn how to set up my devices and even how to upload a picture! The moderators are wonderful about listening and showing us patience!!  Well, I will stop here and save room for others' comments which I eagerly await!!😚

I like the unseen side of JWtalk.

 

For those introverts amongst us, those shy, those who fear answering up... Here is a good place to get involved in a spiritual discussion, say your piece, or opinion, or researched point and have a share in it. When you think about it, each thread in many ways is like an item or WT study. It's a topic we are discussing as a brotherhood.

 

Why do I say this? In my short while here, contributing to topics and realizing that my input isn't always completely rubbish and utter jibberish, but is actually useful to the conversation has made me question why I'm not contributing more in my congregation, and is pushing me to do so.

 

So, thats what I like. The real-world application that this place can give. I'm sure I'm not the only one too! Thank you to all here for that little self-confidence boost thats needed to overcome introverted shyness!

First of all, I love everyone who makes an effort to participate. I like brief posts that are well researched. I like posts that have a solid scriptural ground.
