Metal detectors go off because of my hip replacements, then they pull me aside and scan me with a wand to make sure I'm not carrying a weapon of some sort, these are only the size of a grain of rice, not much if any metal.

Yes, but they do not go off because of your nfc cards?

When Tens Units* first started being in wide use they tended to set off detectors - that was soon programmed out and it is rare for a Tens Unit* to set of a detector today - I am sure the same can and will be done for these devices.
