I very much like this idea!!

We need to take care of the environment. And many insects have a hard time to survive. Of course we can't change this, but we can show that we do care.

And there have to be a sign, so why not combine it

When we did our recent remodel, we had to get rid of anything and everything that would attract insects.  Our shrubs, trees, landscaping timbers, rocks...all went bye bye.  Why?  BUG magnets...that was the explanation.

1 hour ago, Friends just call me Ross said:

We just completed the parking lot.  Involved removing trees and grinding away roots.  Today at meeting we could hear the croaking of a frog !!!

Apparently, a refugee displaced by the outside work looking for a quiet spot indoors.

When we do remodels or new builds - landscaping is a definite consideration. We cannot remove trees without permission ... tree ordinances.

We are also required to make sure we have "green space" to offset the paved area (and that includes the building) so this requires various trees, shrubs, plants and grass. In addition, we are then required to provide irrigation for the foliage.

Now, none of the plant life can be closer than 24" from the building to keep the insects and rot away from the structure.
