My comment:

BBC said that these protests were about equality.  Global warming, jobs, cost of living were other causes.

People are frustrated that they have little say in what is happening to them.  The general consensus is that things are going to get worse and the government is not doing anything about it.  What would we expect from a ruler who is angry and has no love for any of his people.

Bible prophecy agrees.

We were reminded in remain loyal convention 2016.."Things wilIl be more difficult." Then, in 2017  Jw in Russia has been banned.

Wicked system is getting worse..  On the other hand, it says "Jehovah will treat his loyal ones in a special way."

The question "how much wickedness is enough?"

I can still see nice people in my place but they're just contented of being nice not to be God's servants.

The Farmers' Almanac Predicts Winter 2020 Will Be 'Freezing' and 'Frigid'

No wonder, people's nerves are frayed and raw.

*** go chap. 12 pp. 183-191  How We Can Enjoy the World Government Forever ***

Quote

...when, in due time, the remnant and the “great crowd” of their fellow survivors look out over the new scene, they will not see on the cleansed earth anywhere any restless, dissatisfied, turbulent society expressing opposition to God’s established world government. The “world of ungodly people” will have been dried up, wiped out, removed during the “great tribulation” that will have just ended. Such a “sea” of polluted, filth-laden water will not survive the judgment day on which Jehovah’s anger is poured out like fire.

The year 2020 bodes ill for all. The economists are predicting dire times ahead in the new year. It will be a tumultuous year.

Time to hold on tightly to Jehovah God and His slave class. We're in for a rough ride, like being in a ship out in the open seas, whipped by the hurricane force winds and tossed hither and  thither by the thunderous high waves. A perfect storm is coming. Or is it 'Winter is coming?'

Do as Jesus Christ said: “As these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is getting near.” (Luke 21:28)

Daydream -

Scientists have discovered that daydreaming is an important tool for creativity. It causes a rush of activity in a circuit, which connects different parts of the brain and allows the mind to make new associations.

Equality Protests happen when people realize that the world's authorities aren't going to do anything to improve their lives, even if people are starving to death. Climate protests are because people have realized that the world's authorities aren't going to do anything, even if all human civilisation depends on it. Political protests happen when people realize that even in democratic governments, the whole system is designed to make sure that the popular vote doesn't really make any difference.

And the protests become riots when people realize that protesting doesn't make a lick of difference any more.

The world is designed to let evil win the game before good can get its shoes on.

I think it comes down to "the haves and the have-nots".

In spite of the appalling conditions that surround us, those with lots of money are less concerned than the average paycheck-to-paycheck worker.

No doubt this is behind the thought at Ezekiel 7:19. Yes, they will throw their money away because they put their trust in the money but it can't save them after all.

Meanwhile, the 'have-nots' are mad as ell because they also think that money would solve their problems but they ain't got any.

This is true everywhere until you consider the next part of this statement: who's definition of "nice" are we talking about? If a person doesn't love Jehovah's ways, can they truly be called good or nice? They might be friendly or mannerly when it's convenient, but make no mistake that when life gets tough it will be those same "nice" people who will rob you and steal your food! LOL

My DFd sister got reinstated then left again 9 months later because she didn't like the idea of her "good" worldly friends being destroyed. Before she left, I said, "First, who says they're good? Second, why aren't you preaching to them then?"

Peace and Security first sis.

So here's a question then. If the cry of peace and security is so compelling that even God's people have to be vigilant not to believe it (as we've been recently counseled), then does that mean a major turnaround may occur from the present turmoil so that any cry might seem legitimate?

Discuss.

The sea of mankind is agitated. Luke 21:25-28.  It could mean that once religion has been eradicated they will cry for that peace and security.  (speculation) because religion is at the root of mans woes, wars, upheavals, dissentions, divisions and meddling into politics.  Since the dawn of civilization religion has always played an important part of any civilization.  You just cannot divorce the two.    But, then we will be delivering a message of doom!  Whatever that message will be we will soon find out.

Remember Isa. 30:15b  .......your strength will come in keeping calm and in trusting.

Apparently it's vandalism and wasn't just the church. A university also got burnt. It seems to be over a bus-fare hike?

Really?  This new generation is the one that Jehovah is going to destroy.  Each generation progressivly have been gettting worse.   This is a generation without heart.  Everything goes in this generation.  Lawless, unforgiving, unreasonable etc......... it just gets worse.

Over a bus fare?  In our time we would never dispute the authorities.

This generation has to go!!  The sea of mankind is wrestless.  The governments have no solutions, the churchs are just a bunch of charlatans.  Fooling the masses and preventing the truth about Jehovah's Kingdom.  The governments don't know which way to turn anymore neither does religion.

You hit the nail on the head for why the present generation DOES dispute the authorities. Think about it. As you mentioned, the government has no solutions, the churches are false...Over the last 50 years or so, people have systematically discredited everything that was once viewed as authoritative (family, police, government, church, teachers, etc) and so now when you say something is wrong the first question you get is, "Says who?"
